Ann Taylor Leafy Tiered Lantern Sleeve Blouse, size XXSP

I love this tiered leafy lantern sleeve blouse and I had to size down to size XXSP since it runs about two sizes bigger. I purchased this blouse for an extra 50% off during a previous sale and I also ordered it in store to get free shipping. It's a beautiful lightweight blouse that will be perfect for the upcoming spring transition. I wore it this past week paired with my favorite chartreuse topper as seen here. It's also available in solid colors here.

Ann Taylor Smocked Ruffle Collar Blouse, size XXS regular

I ordered this smocked ruffle collar blouse a while ago but I ended up returning it since I decided that I would tire of this style. It has a very flowy fit in my usual size XXS regular at Ann Taylor. The lavender granite pictured above looks more lavender with grey undertones in person than baby blue as seen in the online stock image. If you follow my Instagram stories then you'll know that I'm working on a major closet purge so I'm trying to be better about what makes it's way into my closet. It's going to be very difficult for me because I love spring and summer clothes.

Ann Taylor Striped Cinch-Waist Poplin Top, size XSP
Talbots Francesca Driving Flats in light acorn (last seen here, similar)

I went in store this past weekend hoping to see more new arrivals but I will have to come back this weekend to see what else came in. This cinched-waist top is on my wishlist along with the dress. I love the tie waist in the front and elastic in the back which gives it a more feminine and figure flattering shape. I found that size XSP fits true to size in the blouse. If you use the True Fit profiles my recommended size was XSP for the blouse while my recommended size for the dress is size XXSP. Refer to this clip for another view of the fit on me. I will note that the fabric is thin and unlined so I am not sure if I will like the dress as much as I like the blouse.

Also, the Shopbop's tiered sale started yesterday (save up to 25% off great designer items). I rarely shop there and looked out of curiosity and I spotted these Tory Burch Laila Ballet Driving flats which look really comfortable. The few reviews I could find for these flats were positive on Bloomingdale's and Tory Burch's websites. I wish they were over $200 so I could apply the discount so I'll have to see if there's anything else that catches my eye.

Happy shopping!

Spring Wishlist

LOFT Ruffle Cuff Top, size XXS regular

We've been enjoying spring-like temperatures in Boston this week. Out come my favorite white skinny jeans which I'm guilty of wearing as often as possible come spring and summer but more sparingly in fall and winter. These petite friendly white jeans also back again at Ann Taylor with the same fit as last year. This year's version is 98% cotton and 2% spandex while last year's version was 81% cotton, 10% lyocell, 7% polyester and 2% spandex. Refer to my review here. Don't let anyone tell you that it's too early for white jeans. Check out what this article has to say about white jeans after Labor Day and other fashion rules to break!

Ann Taylor Modern Skinny Ankle Jeans

I also tried on the J.Crew toothpick jeans in white and size 24 fit me in the waist but I would prefer the petite inseam for the best fit. My local J.Crew carried petites very briefly last year in store but it looks like they took away the petite section once again (replaced with crewcuts) which I'm bummed about. In any case, I personally prefer the fit (love narrow ankle openings) and price point of the Ann Taylor white skinny jeans.

Bandolino Opali
Bandolino Opali

I've been shopping for spring shoes and specifically neutral, low heel options. I just received these Bandolino Opali sandals in pink and taupe which I shared on my Instagram stories yesterday. I'll share a better picture of them this weekend in good lighting. I love Bandolino shoes for their comfort since I have slightly wider feet. If you have narrower feet and ankles then you will not like the fit. I'm also eying these Talbots flower-topped driving flats which are similar to my beloved suede version I have in light acorn and black.

I've been culling my items to make room for spring closet refresh. For that lust-have spring bag, I'm coveting this minimalist Celine micro belt bag as spotted in Yvonne's Instagram (@vonneywong) recently. The larger size is really heavy and structured and I hope to find the micro size to try on this weekend. Meanwhile I still love my white lasercut crossbody from Ann Taylor last year. I didn't love the white strap and I found a chain replacement from Amazon (style 2 in the listing, refer to this clip here). 100cm is a bit short to be worn as a crossbody so I would recommend getting at least 120cm.

Here are the other designer bags I'm eyeing this season:

I recently listed my Louis Vuitton Trevi PM in Damier Ebene for sale on my Poshmark closet. If you're interested I will review private offers via the app. I plan on listing a few other bags soon as well. In case anyone else is looking to resell their LV bags, I had a really difficult time finding and seeing the date code for authentication purposes on my bag. It was where I thought it was inside the larger pocket after doing research online but I couldn't actually see it until I used a flash light at night. Also, in order to capture a picture of the stamped letters and numbers I had to turn on the flash on my iPhone. Without flash you really can't see it against the red alcantara lining. You can read more about LV date codes here.

LOFT NEW ARRIVALS

I'm excited to host another shopping party at my local LOFT with my co-workers next week. It's been busy at work and I finally got to browse through the entire site to check out the latest spring arrivals. Here are some of the new arrivals that caught my eye and/or are on my wishlist:

ANN TAYLOR SALE ALERT

Get an extra 60% off sale styles at Ann Taylor with the code FEB60. Online only. Sale ends 2/27 at 3AM ET. I spotted this code on my phone but my desktop only displays the extra 40% off promotion on sale styles. Below are my favorite sale tops:

I would suggest sizing down on these blouses. I took size XXSP for the leafy tiered lantern sleeve blouse (review of size XS regular here). You can also see size XXSP on Su@allaboutloft although she needed to exchange hers for size XSP. I'm going to exchange the butterfly print pleated flounce top tomorrow for size XSP due to the longer 3/4 length sleeves on size XXS regular (review here, as seen here).

Have a great weekend!

I'm eyeing this sunny lace skirt (review of size 0 regular here). You can also see size 0 regular on Su. I finally snagged this Lou & Grey eyelash sweater when size XXS popped back in stock a few days ago (review of size XS regular here).

FITTING ROOM REVIEWS

LOFT Fitting Room Reviews on www.whatjesswore.com

LOFT Tasseled Wrap
Lou & Grey Speckled Cowl Sweater, size XS (sold out, last seen here)

I love this soft tasseled wrap which is cozy and well made. It is sewed on both sides as you can see in the above left and from the side here. See the back view here and you can also refer to this clip for a better fit of the wrap on me. I love how it drapes and it looks very flattering and easy to throw on for an extra layer of cozy.

LOFT Lacy Ruffle Shoulder Blouse, size XXSP
LOFT Lacy Ruffle Shoulder Blouse, size XXSP (review of size XS regular here)

I ordered this pretty ruffled top in XXS regular when it popped back in stock a few weeks ago. This past weekend I stumbled upon size XXS petite in the sales rack in store and I purchased it. If anyone is interested in taking size XXS off my hands please let me know. I will list it on my Poshmark (use code HPHAO for a $5 credit when you sign up) once I get a chance to wash it. I also own this blouse in red in size XS regular as seen and reviewed here. It runs big but it does has a flattering drape.

LOFT Ruffle Yoke Sweater, size S regular
LOFT Ruffle Yoke Sweater, size S regular

I tried on this feminine yoke sweater and I sized up to S regular for a relaxed fit. However, it does run true to size. Refer to this clip for a better view of the fit on me. The adorable ruffle yoke isn't too overpowering but alas I didn't love this sweater on me so I passed.

LOFT Cutout Lace Top, size XS regular
LOFT Cutout Lace Top, size XS regular (review of size XSP here)

I tried on this cutout out lace top in petite XS here but this time I tried on XS in regular missy and I prefer the longer overall length and longer sleeves. The lace sleeves run wider (actually too wide on me) as a result of sizing up. I believe I need this blouse in my usual size XXS regular for the best fit. See it on the Jacqueline @themodalista here. She recently took over LOFT's Instagram for February here and here and she also picked out my favorite ruffle cuff top (she took size XSP) which I have in size XXS regular (see it on me here and here).

 LOFT Blossom Blouse, size XSP

I saw this blossom top but it was pinned back on the mannequin so it looked really cute. However, when I tried it on it's very wide and boxy. The fit is similar to the striped lantern sleeve blouse which I had but recently letting go of in size XSP. As a quick aside, I am trying not to settle on the fit this year so I'm letting go of some items that don't fit the best on me. Sometimes my fitting room selfies or need for instant gratification get the best of me. In these instances, it takes a quick photo shoot with my husband to realize I shouldn't have bought something even though it was "so cute." See a better view of the blossom print from the side view here.

LOFT Pocket Sweater, size XS regular
LOFT Pocket Sweater, size XS regular

Su suggested that I try on this red pocket sweater and I was happy to oblige since I found it at my local store. I found that this sweater has a short and boxy fit and it flares out at the hips. It has a good weight to it and it would also look cute with a button down layered underneath. I'd say it runs true to size but be prepared for it to fit very loose. If you prefer longer and more fitted sweaters then you will not like this as sizing up would make the round neckline, sleeves and overall width appear even wider.

LOFT Flowerbud Mixed Media Sweater, size XS regular

This mixed media sweater looked like it would wash well (the back lining is 100% polyester instead of rayon) so I tried it on for sizing. I like the flowerbud print in the back. It's a thinner material which should be suitable for the spring transitional weather. I found that it fits true to size with a loose/relaxed fit.

Modern Skinny Crop Jeans in Pure Dark Indigo Wash, size 26/2P

I tried on these modern skinny crop skinny jeans since Su was interested in the bright mid indigo wash which my store did not carry. I brought in size 25/0P and size 26/2P to try. I couldn't zip up size 25/0P without a bit of a muffin top so I would say these jeans run about one size smaller. If you don't like really tapered/narrow openings at the bottom of your jeans then these jeans flare out a little bit on the bottom when you unroll them. I personally wouldn't wear these rolled up as pictured in the online stock image because the inseam is already slightly higher than ankle length on me. This style is available in three other washes: bright mid indigo wash, mid stone wash, and staple dark indigo wash. I'm not sure why the wash I tried on above is called the pure dark indigo wash because it looks more like a mid wash as seen here.

Thanks for reading!

LOFT Modern Trench

 Spring Staple: LOFT Modern Trench

There's a winter storm warning tomorrow but let's talk about one of my favorite new spring arrivals from LOFT like this new modern trench! A classic trench is is a must have spring staple and I love the quality and the details of this year's design. This year's version is a flattering shade of khaki with no odd undertones. The waist runs a bit wide so you may want to try sizing down if you want a closer fit when cinched. You can also check out my review of the popular essential trench from last year here since I would say they have a very similar fit and straight cut. I took my usual size 0 petite and I like sleeve length and overall length for petites. The beautiful floral lining is the best part about this trench and now I understand why the first online reviewer mentioned that it "smells good." Ha!

I also ordered this open pocket cardigan and it fits similar to this sold out/popular mixed rib open cardigan (last seen here). I have both cardigans in size XS regular since I like the overall length of regular missy despite the longer sleeves which I cuff once.
