LOFT Mixed Striped Pleated Top, size XSP

Summer has pretty much come and gone and I find myself shopping for sweaters, jackets and booties. I purchased this BB Dakota faux suede jacket at Marshalls last weekend for $39.99. When I looked up the style number on the care tag I found the same style available here and here in a light color called parchment. I'm don't know what the color I'm wearing is called but it's a mousy light brown/taupe color and size XS is petite friendly since it has a more cropped fit. It's a thin jacket best suited for early fall and wears like a cardigan sso you can throw on over tops for an easy transition into fall. BB Dakota has other similar style jackets. I also found another comparable and affordable faux suede jacket available via TJ Maxx and Marshalls for $24.99 by Romeo + Juliet Couture (see it on me here). It's available in multiple colors and I took home the navy blue color.

I don't usually go for bold prints but this striped pleated top looked so pretty on a sales associate so I ordered it to try and I love the fit. It's fully lined and true to size since I took my usual size XSP. You can also see it on @dreamalittledreamvt.

Nothing beats the perfect pair of leopard flats to make an outfit fall ready. I love the color and print of this Gemma leopard flat from J.Crew last year because the leopard print fabric is very subtle. I haven't found anything else exactly in this colorway but I find that the binding around the seams become a bit tight and uncomfortable on my feet if I walk around a lot. My feet tend to swell and look red and blotchy if my shoes become too tight so I'm still on the search for a more comfortable pair of leopard flats. Update 9/2: Annie @stylishpetite recommended this pair and I just ordered them to try along with a few other items I was eyeing from Nordstrom.

LOFT Marled Ruffle Cuff Sweater, size XS regular
LOFT Marled Ruffle Cuff Sweater (now $27.49, also available in black, review here)

This is marled sweater is my first sweater purchase for the fall and I love the ruffled 3/4 sleeve length. The opening for your head does run a bit smaller so I remove my earrings before putting it on over my head.

Last year my most worn fall (and winter sweaters) were:

With any luck I hope that LOFT will repeat and bring back some of my favorites.

I ordered this lace cuff tee in size XSP but the body does stretch out a bit with wear. I may reorder it in size XXSP to see if it's a better fit. Size XXSP was actually my recommended size via the online True Fit profile on LOFT's website.

LOFT Striped Utility Blouse, size XXS regular
LOFT Striped Utility Blouse, size XXS regular (now 40% off, review of size XSP and XXS here)

I love this striped utility blouse and now I'm contemplating other colors especially the olive (autumn fern) color. I love the striped blouse with white jeans but it will also transition into the fall well paired with darker denim and stylish heels (these cap toe slingbacks are a swoon worthy splurge or the Talbots version is an affordable option when they're on sale) or ankle booties (these are my favorite booties).

I really love the look of the flared sleeves and bow ties on this grey cardigan but I was a little stumped on which top to pair with it. Longer tops that stuck out looked awkward with it and I don't like tucking in my tops. I ended up pairing it with a similar length layering cami which was a clearance find at Ann Taylor Factory a while ago. Size XXS regular fits me true to size and the quality is decent and drapes well.

I stopped by a local Ann Taylor briefly and tried on this pretty floral print top. It's also available in sold colors here. Size XSP fit me true to size and the belt was long enough for me to tie into a bow. Tying the sashes at the waist creates a flattering peplum hem. It wasn't too sheer in the floral print to require a layering cami. I was curious about ordering it in size XXS regular for a longer overall length but I am not sure how much I would wear this print into the fall. Many of the latest Ann Taylor new arrivals are really beautiful styles and prints but I am not sure I see myself reaching for them once fall comes around which is very soon here in New England.

I tried on this cute shell in size XXSP in a previous post so I was happy to find size XSP to try on for comparison. Size XSP is a more comfortable fit on me throughout the hips and waist. I'd say this top fits true to size.

Poplin Twist Front Seersucker Dress, size 0P

Last week we had family staying with us so I wasn't able to share decent pictures of this striped dress that I received in the mail. As another online reviewer mentioned this dress is not made out of seersucker fabric. It's just a striped cotton dress. Everywhere fits me well and true to size except for the bust darts so I'm on the fence about returning it. I really want to keep the dress due to the pretty twist detail at the waist. It looks very professional paired with a navy blazer which helps to hide the issue at the bust on me.

This pinstripe dress is another item I received in the mail last week and I reviewed it in my previous post sans pictures. The knotted detail at the waist is slightly lower on my torso in size XXS regular so I might re-order it in size XSP to see if it's a better fit. Update 9/8: I received size XSP today (see it on me here) but the placement of knot was not very flattering at my waist so I'm leaning towards returning the dress. If you have any insecurities in your mid-section then you may not like the fit of dress.

I've been persistently stalking this pink clutch mostly to satisfy my curiosity but similar to the black color I wasn't in love with it once I saw it in person. Be sure to click the link I provided to get a better look at the color. The actual shade of pink is difficult to capture with my iPhone but the true color is shown 10 seconds into the clip here.

I also received these Lou & Grey break up chino shorts in desert mauve. Size 0 regular fit me well and you can see a clip of the measurements I shared here. I got them on sale for an extra 60% off sale styles last week and they're currently on sale for $20.

My LOFT orders from last week should arrive today and Saturday so be on the look out for updates via my Instagram stories!
