My weekend via Instagram

It was a gorgeous weekend in Boston and I'm so glad that I got to spend it outside. After all the rain it's definitely a nice reprieve to enjoy the feel the sun on your skin. I recently started using Instagram and needless to say, I'm hooked. For those of you that have not jumped on the bandwagon (and wonder how you can view all the pretty pictures) it's like a cross between Twitter and Pinterest and it comes with easy to use filters that make your photos instantly more glam. You can follow me @whatjesswore or you can view the feed to my Instagram pictures on Facebook.

Have a great week! I'm on vacation starting next weekend so this week leading up to it is likely to be a rough one.

The Perfect Summer Sandals

The search for the perfect summer sandal(s) to add to my shoe collection has begun! I am head over heals in love with the Zara pair (I'm wearing US6 1/2 (EUR 37) which in my opinion equals a US7 because they run about half size bigger) but I'm not sure about the other two by Ivanka Trump. They're on a different level of squee (and smell a bit weird right out of the box)... What do you think?

Have you found your go to summer sandals this season?

Update: The last pair in my haul arrived today. I'm wearing the Adrienne Vittadini Viva Wedge Sandals, Size 7 in silver. These run TTS and are pretty comfy. There was a special promotion on when I purchased these the the other day so I got them for $83.69.

I've also decided that I will send back the two pairs by Ivanka Trump on Monday.

Oldie But Goodie

Club Monaco cardigan (old, cute alternative), BR pleated dress (similar here and here, and here), Ann Taylor bow peep toe pumps (old, cute alternative), Toy Watch, Tiffany & Co. earrings, pearl and open heart bracelets & necklace, LV Trevi PM

Dress weather is here in Boston (to stay I hope) but I still see a few people in their winter coats in the mornings. I found an old BR dress in my closet (from 2008/2009) that I wore to work today. I remember purchasing the dress because I loved the pleats which make an otherwise boring one-color dress interesting. It was a bit chilly with the rain so I also brought my favorite cardigan purchased this past winter at Club Monaco. I adore the delicate petal applique and happily pay extra to have the cleaners take care of it. Once I arrived in the office I pulled out my AT taupe peep toe pumps which have been sorely neglected since last year (they also need to be resoled to make them last longer).

Comme Toi

Update 8.1.2012 - Thanks for the mention Cee!

I just checked the latest Modcloth reviews on this top. To answer some questions for those on the fence:

Clothing Size Reference: I am 5'2 1/4" about 103-109 lbs and my measurements are 32-25-32. I wish there was a way to edit my Modcloth review to include my measurements.

Will it fit me comfortably? I think size S is better suited for someone who doesn't have a big bust. Not sure about the other sizes.

Caring for this garment: I dry cleaned this top after I wore it twice.

Update 6.11.2012 - Thanks for the mention Jean!

I've been without Wi-Fi at home since Friday morning due to a regrettable switch in my Internet/TV provider but I noticed a spike in visitors and wondered why- ha! It's actually been rather therapeutic to be forcibly disconnected. (On the other hand, I've become a ninja with my iPhone/3G connection/basic HTML skills.) Never realized how hooked I am. Anyhow, I'm so glad you loved this top as much as I do. :)

Blouse from (Size S by Comme toi), BR skinny jeans (0S/25S), BCBG Max Azria peep toe wedge flats (old), Toy Watch, Tiffany & Co. pearl and open heart bracelets & necklace, LV Trevi PM

As promised, I'm reviewing this unique top that I recently purchased from Modcloth (in size S by Comme Toi). I received the package on Friday and the dress was a sack on me so this will only be a review for the top.

The blouse is very sheer so I wore a black cami underneath. It looks exactly as pictured online. I love the grosgrain bow details in front, the buttons down the back and on the sleeves and the piping detail around the sleeves. The sleeves are not too tight and don't stretch out. There is about 1.5 inches additional of room when buttoned (and I don't have particularly skinny arms). The sleeves hit just below the elbow on me so it wasn't uncomfortable when I bent my arm. I'm pretty flexible so I had no trouble fastening the buttons down the back.

I wore the blouse all day and the shape held up well and still looks great by the end of the day. I did have a hard time trying to get the lines out from where it was folded in the packaging but it should be perfect the next time I wear it because it's going into my dry cleaning pile.

A definite a keeper-- get it before it's gone!

Update 05.14.2012: My review is now live on!

Kinder Bueno

I came across a stash of Kinder Buenos during checkout today at the Market on the Square

Don't they look a bit like large Kit Kats?

The Kinder Bueno has a creamy hazelnut filling just like the Happy Hippos I found in March. However, they're not too sweet because the wafers are covered with milk chocolate. I like how they were double packaged to ensure freshness and crunchiness. I'll probably order more via Amazon because they were pricey in store that I only bought one pack to try. I prefer the Kinder Bueno to  the hazelnut flavored Hippos (where I ate half and did not want to finish the rest). If you want to try the Hippos I recommend the chocolate flavor over the hazelnut cream.

I leave you with some food for thought (a great post from a beautiful blogger who shares her love for food and all things yummy). Her post made me feel like less of a horrible person for eating chocolate so late at night although I did share the other stick with the boyfriend. I chased down my late night chocolate indulgence with some fresh cut orange slices so maybe this balances out the bad. :)
Note: The Market on the Square also stocked up on the Happy Hippos in case you're local and want to try them.
