A Marigold Jacket

Tinley Road Bleeker Blazer (stock image)

I’ve been on a little yellow kick lately with the chartreuse crewcuts girl’s coat and now this blazer pictured above in canary yellow. The Bleeker blazer has been available for a while and it’s received a lot of positive reviews on Piperlime. It also comes in 9 other colors (there are two black colors listed but I’m not sure why since they both look the same to me).

In my opinion, the canary yellow color looks more like marigold in real life. This blazer sat in my shopping cart for months but I would always save it for later since I thought that the bright color was outside my comfort zone. Last week,  I finally decided to buy it because it was an additional 20% off the sale price of $39.99 (for a final price of $31.99).

Here is what the jacket looked like right after I took it out of the plastic wrap. It’s a bit wrinkly since but once I tried it on the wrinkles were not very noticeable.

The style is high-low so it is longer in the front than the back. The measurements of size XS (with the garment laid flat) are as follows:

16″ across the armpit/chest
14″ when measured from the most tapered part of the jacket (at the waist)
24.75″ sleeves
24.5″ length in front
19.5″ length in back

I tried on the jacket with a few of the other items in my recent order to make sure that it was versatile with both pants and dresses. Here are my two favorite looks:

Banana Republic Mara dot lace top in XS
Gap 1969 legging jeans in 25P/P0
Andre Assous Erika Espadrille in black, sz 7

I have to thank Annie for telling me about this dress. She spotted it in stores a few weeks ago and she always looks so amazing in Banana Republic sheath dresses.

Do you own any Bleeker blazers? If so, what other colors would you recommend?

While I think all blazers look pretty good. An exceptional blazer looks good on you, with everything. This cut is really good and seems to be quite versatile despite it not being a basic black (or other).

Thanks Nancy. I actually threw on the jacket over the dress because the dress doesn't fit me perfectly.

Thank you! I think I need to try it on with more outfits. I keep doubting myself because it's not a color I'm using to pairing with things.

Thanks Sheila! The polka dot top reminds me of one of your tops but I think you have it in hot pink.

I love the color of this blazer! It looks great on you and I love it with both outfits. Clearly the blazer works with both dresses and jeans, which means it's pretty much perfect. Hope you have a great weekend, and by the way, happy bday to your sister! :)xo, Yi-chiaAlways Maylee

It's true. They fit you like second skin. :)Thanks Annie. I returned the dress for now and I'm waiting for a better sale price. I am trying to only buy from BR if it's at least 40% off. I broke my rule this time.

I ordered the sheath dress and had such high hopes but it didn't work for me. Maybe it was a size thing. I'll try it on again tonight. It looks sooo good on you!

Aww. I'm so sorry. It actually didn't look that great on me which is why I threw the blazer on over it. I ended up returning it hoping to find it on sale but I actually forgot about this dress which means I don't really love it.

Hi Jess, are you enjoying this blazer still? I'm thinking about ordering this in an orange (or Arabesque on their site).. you probably know I'm searching for a good blazer 🙂 I wish this came in a white!

Thanks for following up, Allison. I haven't worn it out (hasn't been warm enough). I like the fit a lot but I wish I ordered it in a 'safer' color. It came in a cream color when I ordered it but it's currently not available. I adore the arabesque and classic blue colors that are currently available.
