Hi Ladies,
Special thanks to Annie for sharing the code FRIENDS for 40% off LOFT during the cardholders preview the day before. The current promotion is good through Sunday August 18th and there are no exclusions. I don’t have a LOFT or Ann Taylor card so my shopaholic self was worried that the items I wanted would sell out in my size. Fortunately when I checked the cart in the morning my picks were still there so I happily ordered away.
It’s been a little over four months since my last post but I figured I’d take advantage of the latest sale to show you a backlog of how some (okay, a lot) of items fit on me. I keep hoping that I’ll magically shed my winter blubber but alas with lots of eating and no exercise aside from walking around town I’m still at my heavier weight of around 110 give or take a few pounds (my preferred weight is 102-103). For reference I’m 5′ 2 1/4″. I’ve had hyperthyroidism/Graves Disease since 2004 so my weight has fluctuated a lot. Aside from GD it could be attributed old age plus bad habits such as eating late and downing copious amounts of bubble tea (and yes, I’ve heard about the boba recall). It’s all well and good I guess and I’m finding that I fit a lot more clothes than I usually would.
Ruffle Shoulder Shell, size XXS
Decision: Keeping
Boatneck Tee Blouse, size XS (as seen on Annie here)
Decision: Keeping
I prefer regular XXS (as seen in the striped top below) but either it wasn’t available or it sold out in that size.
Keep: Mixed Stripe Square Boatbeck tee, size XXS (as seen on Jean here)
Decision: Keeping
The neck opening was impossibly small in the petites size so I ordered the regular XXS. I prefer an easier on and off so I took this top to my tailor to create a 4″ keyhole opening with button detail in the back. Update: See finished product here.
LOFT Seamed Flare Shift Dress, size 0 regular
Decision: Ordered in 00 regular since the size picture above is still too loose and petites is a tad short.
LOFT Cotton Canvas Utility Jacket, size XS in sand coast
Decision: Love it. Regular XS was too big and roomy on me but unfortunately XXS is sold out. 🙁
Vintage Floral Print Elastic Waist Dress, size XSP
Decision: Passed due to odd waistline on me
Tie Neck Short Sleeve Blouse, size XSP
Decision: Passed
Animal Print Spaghetti Strap Dress, size 00
Decision. Keeper. It’s unlined but I love it. See it on me here.
Pleat Front Tee Blouse in fiery red, size XS
Decision: Passed because I wouldn’t wear red much.
Tiered Ruffle Shell, size XSP in cocoa sand (recommended by Annie)
Decision: Passed due to trying on incorrect size.
Tiered Ruffle Shell, size SP in new navy
Decision: Passed although this size is much better.
Pebble Print Button Back Tulip Sleeve Top, (size XS shown here but I purchased in size XXS online)
Stretch Ponte skirt, size XS
Passed on the skirt because it’s thinner weight and unlined
Decision: Keeping
Birds of Paradise Print tee, size XXSP
Modern Skinny Ankle Jeans, (modeling size 25P but ended up getting 26P)
Decision: Passed on the top. It’s now sold out but I wish I had purchased it.
Pleated V-Neck Tank dress, size XXSP
Decision: Pass. Regret purchase since I now only wear this dress at home.
Crochet Bib Sleeveless Lace Dress, size 0P
Decision: Love it. See it on me here.
In addition to the keepers up top below are my picks for the sale. A couple of items I noticed after I placed my order so unless I see them in stores I’m going to try not to place another order to save myself from epic returns. At least this is what I tell myself right now. 🙂
- Crepe Short Sleeve Dress – now available in petites
- Polka Dot Tie Neck Dress
- Gathered cami – great for layering
- Cabochon Toggle Bracelet – saw this in stores and it’s gorgeous!
- Pointelle Stitched Sheer Open Cardigan
- Pleated Tie Neck Shell (recommended by Annie)
- Lace Shoulder tee
- Pleated front 3/4 sleeve tee (as seen on Jean here)
- Dip Dot Print Pleat front blouse (as seen on Annie here)
- Feather Plaid Print Sheer Swing blouse
- Shoulder Ruffle Charmeuse Shell
- Supreme Modern Skinny Jeans in Debate Blue
Happy shopping!
Thanks for the reviews Jess! Happy to see a blog post finally 🙂 I'm glad you kept the items you did but no on the red pleated top and the ruffle top? I thought both looked good on you.
My pleasure Annie. As you know I prefer Instagram to blogging since it's less time consuming and quick to 'publish' and share things. You certainly make blogging look easy and I really admire that. 🙂 I passed on the red top because I hardly wear red when I buy it. All the combinations I come up with remind me of Christmas. lol If it becomes available in more neutral colors then I'd totally get them. Thanks for suggesting the ruffled top. I think it would look so much better on you but I thought it wasn't so flattering on me due to the size I tried on. Maybe I'll try on another size in store.
Beautiful, loving everything! I especially love the red skirt, you look great in red in general:)Aesthetic Lounge
It looks like you've got some great items. My other half was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism/graves disease around 6 months ago. He's much better now and now only take 1 tablet every other day. He's been reading some stuff from http://www.elaine-moore.com which he says has helped and is on a low idione diet.www.petitestyleonline.com
Thanks so much, Mimi. The red skirt is from Banana Republic.
Thanks Carol. I'm sorry to hear that your significant other has it too especially because it's supposed to be more common in women. I appreciate the link you shared and I'll definitely be taking a look. I was recently considering the radioactive iodine treatment to ablate my thyroid but reconsidered since it's harsh and irreversible. I'm going to try to see if proper diet and supplements (vitamin D, B21, selenium, copper, iodine and magnesium) help instead. I don't plan on self medicating even with OTC supplements so I'll be sure I'll consult my endocrinologist first.
Great reviews. It looks like Loft is worth a visit right about now.
Thanks so much Gigi! I love your reviews too! I hope you find some staples at LOFT. 🙂
