Banana Republic Vita Zip boots, wearing size 7.5 |
Yesterday I returned the Vitah Zip boots that I ordered from Banana Republic a little over a month ago. I really hope I don’t regret my decision because they seem really supple and well made. I liked the rounded toe box, they didn’t have too much bunching at the ankles and they seemed comfortable (not stiff in the ankles) when I wore them around the house on the carpeted floors. Unfortunately I never reached for them within the month I held onto them because couldn’t figure out how to commute in them. I almost always prefer to commute in flats when taking public transportation so that I don’t trip over my own feet, fall down the stairs if someone accidentally shoves me or for peace of mind when walking along slippery/icy winter pavements.
Anyway, without further ado, here are the measurements:
14 1/2″ outer circumference
13 1/2″ shaft height
4 1/8″ heel (there is a covered platform making them feel more like 3 1/2″)
With skinny jeans on my calves measure 13.5″ so there was still a tiny gap around my calves. These boots are one of the closest fits to my calves for leather boots aside from my trusty Cole Haan Sierra Air tall boots. They’re similar to a pair that I tried on at Bally last year (without the zipper detail) but for a fraction of the price. They’re regularly $225 but currently 40% off this weekend. I typically wear size 7 in Banana’s flats but I went up half a size for comfort for these boots. If you have narrow feet then these will probably fit you true to size.
Here are some more pictures for reference. They’re currently sold out online but you maybe able to call your local store to see if they have it in stock. The online item number is 686975002 but the in store item number on the return receipt is 915246.

Thanks for the review Jess! I'm glad you returned them. I don't think you would have worn them as much given the heel height plus you gravitate more towards your SW's. I wish it didn't have an exposed zipper. I think it would look so sleek and classic w/out it.
These are SUPER cute!! Thanks for the review!– Alex at Brainy Girls Beauty
Can I ask what your height and weight are? I'm torn between ordering xs or small. I'm 5-feet, weight 120 lbs, 32D. I heard these tulip dresses can run big?
Hi Jenny, I'm 5'2 1/4". Sadly I still haven't worn this dress even after alterations because I now weigh 110-115 and size XS is a bit uncomfortable (I have a big rib cage too). I was around 105-108 in this picture I think. If you know your waist measurements I can measure my size XS later. I had the straps taken up professionally but left everything else alone.
Great! That is a big help. If I'm 120 lbs, that would mean everything would be too tight, so I should do a small. Is there any stretch on the dress? I'm looking at getting the floral version.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251490630592?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
There is not much stretch. The material is thicker too. I'll be home in a few hours and will provide an update for you if you haven't already purchased this one off of eBay. 🙂
Jenny, The size XS has a 26" waist and stretches a little. The chest measures 32".
Thanks for doing that! Cheers.
You're welcome! 🙂
