Sale Alert: 50% Off Everything at LOFT

Teal LOFT outlet maxi
Maxi dress from LOFT Outlet (review here)
Photo credits go to my fiancĂ©.
He kept asking if I would use his photos so here you go, frizzy windblown hair and all.

Hi Ladies,

It's been a while since the last one but LOFT is finally having a sale for 50% off everything (excluding Lou & Grey) with code FIFTY now through Friday. It's anyone's guess if they'll extend the sale past Friday so grab your size while it's still available. One of my friends gave me a LOFT gift card as a late birthday present so I may check out some items in person tomorrow if I can resist this online sale. I don't know but it's pretty tempting.

Here are some of my previous LOFT reviews: 1, 2, 3

And below are my sale picks:

Update: This weekend Ann Taylor is also having 50% off with code BIG50. See StylishPetite's Instagram post here on for a stackable 20% off code for purchases over $100 (comments say it works in store). Here are my picks (see the white pom pom scarf on me here and here):

Happy shopping and have a great weekend!

Making It Work: Little Black Dress & Romper

LOFT Outlet Black Romper
LOFT Outlet Romper (review here, similar here, here, here and here)
Theory Blazer (similar here)
Layered necklace from Bloomingdales
Coach Factory Peyton Leather Cora Domed Satchel in brass/sand (style no. F25671, seen here)

I brought home this little black romper from LOFT outlet a few weeks ago and I've been meaning to wear it out but it's a lot shorter than my comfort zone. I prefer the look with a blazer but it's too hot to wear one in this heat and humidity. Hopefully I'll be able to make use of this outfit on a cooler summer night or go with a more casual pairing. The romper itself is very light and airy.

Old Navy Drop waist dress

This Old Navy Ponte dress is a regret purchase from this past winter because the sleeves look like they belong on a muscle tee. I never got a chance to return it since I rarely shop at Old Navy in stores. A while ago I thought it would be a great idea to try to make it work by fixing the sleeves. I like shortcuts and after my brief sewing attempt failed (thank goodness for seam rippers) I took some extra satin ribbon and tied the front of the straps together to give the sleeves a more feminine shape. I figured I'd share this tip in case anyone needs a quick, no-sew solution for neglected tops and dresses.

Old Navy Drop waist dress

I think the sides (under my arm) still have a little too much extra fabric but it works with my long hair which hides the slight imperfection. With my bag thrown on one shoulder it looks like your typical little black dress.

LOFT 40% off Sale Alert, A Few Quick Reviews and My Sale Picks

LOFT is having 40% off everything (again) excluding Lou & Grey with code ONBOARD. Here are a few quick reviews from my previous order on 6/9:

Striped Linen Cotton Sheath Dress

Striped Linen Cotton Sheath Dress
J.Crew Sloane Patent Pumps (old review here, similar here)
Coach Factory Peyton Leather Cora domed satchel

Size: 0P
Fit: Runs 1 size larger since the waist measurements fits a 28" waist
Measurements: 32"chest, 28" waist, 32" total length (I forgot to take measurements before washing but these measurements are after washing on cold and air drying).
Love and would recommend with some reservations. I love this dress (and will be letting go a similar J.Crew dupe in the near future) but I noticed that it shrank a bit in the length even though I didn't wash it in hot water or dry it using heat. The lining now peeks out just the tiniest bit on the bottom hem but it's not noticeable. Did anyone else have the same experience? I would recommend dry cleaning this dress for best results but according to Stylish Petite taking up the lining is an easy fix.

*The scarf comes in bright yellow and black in stores since I noticed that all colors are no longer available online.

Wallpaper Floral Maxi Dress

Wallpaper floral maxi dress
Banana Factory belt (recent find in store)

Size: 00P
Fit: Runs 1-2 sizes larger
Measurements: 32" chest, 26" waist unstretched (stretches to 28" comfortably, 52" total length
Love and would recommend. As previously mentioned, I fell in love with the floral print and had to have this dress during LOFT's last sale. The solid color is gorgeous too but I recently purchased this maxi from LOFT Outlet. Note that the open back (maybe it's due to having a smaller bust) will accommodate larger busts easily but this design may make wearing a normal strapless bra a bit tricky. I may try adding one small, hidden snap button to keep the back flaps closed and I'm flexible enough to reach my back without any issues in order to button it. The side slit hits a little lower than mid-thigh on me.

Lou & Grey Mesa Tee

Lou & Grey Mesa Tee
This was actually my outfit from Wednesday ;)
Old Navy Rockstar super skinny jeans
Zara sandals (old)

Size: XXS
Fit: This is a relaxed flowy tee shirt
Measurements: 34" chest, 42" along the bottom hem, high-low style with front measuring 23" total length and back measuring 26" total length.
Love and would recommend. Note that the back is sheer so a cami is required unless you don't mind your bra strap showing.

Also here are a few of my picks:

Strappy Maxi Dress - Is it wrong to want this dress in both colors?
Pleated Sleeveless Dress - I purchased this white dress in regular XXS but shrank it to fit better (see it on me here). I just noticed that petites is now available online. See the navy version in PXXS on me here. Note that unlike the other colors the white version is lined so it is not see through.
Striped Sailor Pencil Skirt - reading the reviews this sounds like a high waisted skirt
Scallop Cotton Eyelet Dress - Previous review here.
Eyelet Sleeve Cardigan - Previous review here.
Striped Jacket
Linen Cotton Denim Jacket
Linen Blend Waterfall Cardigan
Teardrop Leather Coil Bracelet
Seahorse Print Side Ruffle Bikini Bottom
Lou & Grey Summer White Sweatshirt

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Wedding Wednesday: Ann Taylor Mya Cowl Neck Wedding Dress & Other Reviews

Less than three months until our September wedding and I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! I haven't done any wedding related blog posts then I've been using direct messaging on Instagram to share pictures and messages privately. Our wedding is out of state so we hired a local wedding planner for partial planning and day of coordination but I've also been using LeanKit to keep track of our wedding. If you're familiar with agile and Kanban boards then you might want to give this tool a try.

Ann Taylor Mya Cowl Neck Wedding Dress, Bridal Ivory - 00P

Size: 00P
Measurements: 32" chest (I am a 30B/30A in Wacoal petites), 26" measured at the beaded empire waist, 54" total length. Note that I'm 5'2 1/4" and the bottom hem brushes the floor without any shoes on so I'd say the petite length is better for someone that's 5' and under especially if you plan to wear heels.
Material: The shell is 63% rayon, 31% silk, 6% spandex. The lining is 100% polyester. Dry clean only.
Would recommend with reservations. I purchased this dress online over a year ago and it was my first wedding related purchase after being engaged. I thought I wanted something very simple and sleek and at the time I was pretty pleased with it until everyone I showed it to said that it was too simple. I have since found The Dress (purchased in ivory) and I couldn't be happier!

The Ann Taylor wedding line only accepts returns by mail so I never got a chance to return this  wedding dress which also makes an excellent evening gown. I purchased it for 40% off but there's luxury tax in Massachusetts so I paid around $500 for this dress.

Please refer to these pictures: 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Picture #1: There is a little weight sewn in the middle of the outer layer of the cowl neck draping  (the inside of the cowl neck has a v-neck neckline).

Picture #2: The dress has one outer layer and two layers for the lining so it's not see through.

Picture #3: This picture shows where most of my reservations in recommending this dress comes from - the bottom hem is supposed to be an invisible hem but on this dress you can still see the stitches. It's not apparent unless you're looking at it up close but I expected better workmanship for the price of this dress. Correction: The bottom hem is supposed to be an invisible/blind hem but on this dress you can still see the stitches because it looks like they basted the hem (in case you want to alter it is my guess). Refer back to picture #2.

Picture #4: The dress does look gorgeous in pictures and the fourth picture shows what the dress looks like during sunset where it looks more white and pearly than bridal ivory.

A few months ago I had a hair and makeup trial in New York City and I fell in love with this hair piece. Now I find myself looking for something similar to no avail. Note that this is no longer the hair style that I'm going. I'm hoping my little sister can make me a sash/belt for my dress and hair piece since she's rather crafty.

I'm always on the lookout for cute petite bras but pretty, sexy strapless bras for petite brides are even harder to come by especially here in the US. I bought this Marie Jo bra in 32A below but it was final sale and unfortunately the cups are too small for me. I also prefer something more padded and structured. Please see this listing for more details and email me if you're interested in taking this bra off my hands. I ended up going with TLBC's Sascha strapless bra in 34A with Annie's help (see her review here).

Lastly, I found my wedding shoes a few weeks ago and sent them to my parents house since my dress is there as well while I get it hemmed by a local seamstress. Here I am breaking in the pair I purchased in pink satin. I went up half a size for comfort but they do run true to size. I originally wanted to hunt down this pair of Jimmy Choos that I had spotted on Poshmark but decided against it since I don't need any more bridal accessories that can't be returned. Ha.

Currently Obsessed: Maxi dresses (and Outlet Haul)

#salealert: 40% off dresses @loftgirl including this maxi dress. Shop my picks here: www.liketk.it/IDm @liketkit #liketkit
LOFT Wallpaper Floral Maxi Dress, trying on size 00P

I'm officially obsessed with maxi dresses and I look forward to receiving my wallpaper floral maxi from the regular LOFT store this Friday (see it on Jen of Skirt The Rules here). I quickly tried it on last weekend so I would know which size to order. Coincidentally LOFT had 40% off dresses earlier this week so I ordered it and a few other dresses to try. See my picks here and here. I also bought the two maxis pictured below from LOFT outlet.

LEFT - Mosaic scribble print maxi (style no. 337811), size XXSP
RIGHT - Teal tie-waist maxi (style no. 337803), size 00P

The mosaic scribble print maxi has thin straps and crosses in the back so you will need to either wear a strapless bra or a cardigan over it to hide your bra straps. The teal maxi is a regret purchase since it's unlined and I noticed that it became very wrinkly after washing. When I checked the fabric content I found out that it's 100% rayon. I forgot how much I dislike this material because it doesn't wash well. I knew should have listened to my friend and passed on it due to the material but I really loved the color. She knew that it was the type of material where your sweat stains would be apparent and as I was steaming out the wrinkles out I understood what she meant. Both maxis were $39.99 and an additional 15% off purchases of $75.

LOFT factory blue vneck dress
LOFT Outlet Navy pleated detail v-neck dress (style no. 337820), size XSP

This navy dress also came in a cherry yellow color but it was only offered in the regular sizing.

LOFT Factory black romper
LOFT Outlet black romper (style no. 337829), size 0P

This romper is 100% polyester and unlined but it's not see through. It reminds me of the romper I missed last year at the regular LOFT stores (as seen on Christine of Petite Hues here in the polka dot print). Unfortunately, the polka dot print was only available in regular sizing much to my disappointment.

Banana Republic Factory cognac toggle belt
Banana Republic Factory cognac toggle belt (style no. 137066-00-1), size M/L
Recently worn here

I happened upon this cognac belt at Banana Republic Factory by chance since it was our last stop. I love how it looks like saffiano leather, it's made really well and looks more expensive than the $14 I paid for it. Note that it has a stretchy elastic band on the back so it's very comfortable and not too tight.

Jack Rogers - Lauren sandals in bone/black

I tried these Jack Rogers sandals which were on sale at Saks OFF Fifth for $99. I also noticed a sign advertising an additional 30% off the lowest ticketed price which would have made them $70. I didn't buy them this time around but I was really tempted to. They were really well made and looked cute on my feet but I wasn't sure how versatile they would be. I also wasn't familiar with this brand and wanted to do more research and price comparison.

Coach Factory Cora domed leather satchel in beige
Coach Factory  - Peyton Leather Cora Domed Satchel in brass/sand (style no. F25671)

I've been on a Coach Factory kick recently and I meant to only browse in store but I fell in love with this bag at first sight and couldn't leave without it. It reminds me of the LV Alma bag in epi leather. I felt bad about my impulse purchase and I really was not supposed to buy another bag so I listed a few items for sale to help clear out my closet. Thanks to the lovely ladies that helped take those items off my hands! I plan on listing more items in the near future so please follow me @shopwhatjesswore on Instagram.

Coach Factory Floral keychain
Coach Factory - Flower Leather Key Fob (style no. F69956)

How cute is this flower key chain? I saw it during checkout and snagged two. One for me and one for my friend that wasn't able to join us since she's going through a very rough first trimester.

While I was on vacation last week my mom helped me create some shape to this pretty tile print top (review here). There are many of these tops available in the LOFT sales racks so maybe now's the time to give it another chance.

My mom helped me sew an elastic in the back to create more shape in this empire top from @loftirl.

My mom used the "cheaters way" to gather the back of the top as seen in the clip below. It's a quick and cheap alternative to give shapeless tops some waist definition.

I finally received my latest Coach Factory order in the mail today! There was some mishap where my package was sent back to the sender because silly me forgot to include a house number when trying to send it to my parents' place. I was pleased that their customer service representatives were very quick and efficient. They even shipped it back to my home address free of charge even though it was my error with no questions asked. I loved everything in my recent purchase except for the tattersall coat keychain. I've been eying it forever but it turns out it wasn't as cute in real life. It was roughly made and darker than pictured (see it up close here).

Coach Factory Favorites

Coach Factory favorites (aka 'what's in my bag'):

Floral cosmetic case (review here)
Flower key chain (it sold out last year but I loved it so much I tracked this down on eBay)
Textured patent pouch key ring
Double accordion zip wallet in saffiano leather (shown in light gold and rouge)

Dislaimer: Clicking on rewardStyle or LiketoKNOW.it link may result in commissions.
