I brought home this little black romper from LOFT outlet a few weeks ago and I’ve been meaning to wear it out but it’s a lot shorter than my comfort zone. I prefer the look with a blazer but it’s too hot to wear one in this heat and humidity. Hopefully I’ll be able to make use of this outfit on a cooler summer night or go with a more casual pairing. The romper itself is very light and airy.

Old Navy Womens Ponte Knit Drop Waist Dresses – PXS

This Old Navy Ponte dress is a regret purchase from this past winter because the sleeves look like they belong on a muscle tee. I never got a chance to return it since I rarely shop at Old Navy in stores. A while ago I thought it would be a great idea to try to make it work by fixing the sleeves. I like shortcuts and after my brief sewing attempt failed (thank goodness for seam rippers) I took some extra satin ribbon and tied the front of the straps together to give the sleeves a more feminine shape. I figured
I’d share this tip in case anyone needs a quick, no-sew solution
for neglected tops and dresses.

I think the sides (under my arm) still have a little too much extra fabric but it works with my long hair which hides the slight
imperfection. With my bag thrown on one shoulder it looks like your typical little black dress.

I love the way you tied the sleeves up on that ponte dress from Old Navy. How creative. :)xo – Sheilawww.sheislovelyblog.com

Thanks Sheila! I may have to bring it back home to have my mom help me make a more permanent fix. I'm helpless to do a good job on my own because my own sewing is so crude.

You look bananas in that romper! Your legs look so long! 🙂

*blush* Thanks Annie! I sold the romper to one of my lovely followers since it's too short on me. Hopefully I find another one that fits me more comfortably.
