Lou & Grey funnelneck tunic, size XXS
Update 1/27 – Care Instructions: I washed this sweater on cold and air dried it but now the sleeves fit slimmer and the side slits don’t fall quite the same way anymore (I’m going to try reshaping it some more). The care tag says handwash and dry flat but I would recommend dry cleaning this sweater for best results. The amount of wool content in this sweater must have caused the material to shrink a bit width wise.
My favorite over the knee boots and skinny jeans are my outfit of choice this winter. I loved how warm and cozy the funnelneck tunic was when I wore it yesterday. The sleeves of size XXS are a tad long but I prefer that so that it keeps my hands warm. The side slits are cut high so I wore a cami underneath. In case I raised my arms I didn’t want to flash any skin. We finally had our first real storm today so I may need to look into real winter boots.
I received all of my LOFT order from last week on Thursday and I finally got around to trying on everything this afternoon. Here is a quick review of each item I ordered:

LOFT colorblock flare dress, size 00
J.Crew Sloane cap toe pumps (old)
I just had to have this colorblock flare dress when I first spotted it online and I’m happy to report that it’s gorgeous in real life. Only the regular size of the dress is available to order online but I’ve heard that it’s available in petites in stores as confirmed in the comments of this Instagram post. The regular size 00 fits me decently but I agree with another online reviewer that the armpit openings are cut small and high which is very strange and could be uncomfortable. If you have thin/thinner arms then this may not be cause for concern but I think the small armpit openings may result in fit issues for some.
Size 00 regular measurements are as follows:
13.75″ shoulders
31″ chest
28″ waist
34.5″ total length

LOFT colorblock tunic softened shirt, size XXS
Old Navy Rockstar super skinny jeans
Madden Girl Poppyy espadrille flats (review here)
I also ordered this colorblock tunic softened shirt shirt in deep wisteria. I found this shirt to be a very thin so it’s perfect for spring and summer. The sleeves of size XXS are a tad long on me but they look better rolled up so it’s not a big deal.

LOFT open hoodie, size SP
The open hoodie is one of my favorite items from the new arrivals and I had originally ordered it in XSP but ended up returning it. When I reordered it this time around I sized up to SP because the arms run tight. The larger size allows me to layer comfortably underneath since I am able to pair it with the brushstripe tunic as shown below.

LOFT open hoodie, size SP (shown here in dark grey melange)
Lou & Grey brushstripe tunic, size XSP

Lou & Grey brushstripe tunic, size XSP
LOFT leggings (old from last year)
I love this brushstripe tunic since it’s very soft and warm but I found that it has zero stretch. This means that it can be slightly difficult to get on and off. I think it would have helped if this sweater had side slits. Unless you’re really petite then I would recommend going up a size especially if you have a larger chest or you’ll have to strategically put it on and take it off without twisting something. I’m going to reorder this in XXS regular.

LEFT: Lou & Grey melange cardigan, size XS
RIGHT: Lou & Grey longline sweater jacket, size XS
Update 1/25: I forgot I tried on these two Lou & Grey sweaters a few weeks ago until I browsed my archive of pictures on my phone. The melange cardigan on the left is such a pretty blue-ish grey color. It’s not very warm in my opinion and more of a spring layering sweater. The longeline sweater jacket on right reminds me of the coatigan (sold out) from earlier this season except I like this color and texture more plus it has pockets and it’s very soft and warm. The sleeves of the regular size XS for both sweaters were long on me and I think size XXS would have fit me better.
Thanks for reading!
Great post Jess! I love the dress, all the cardis and ge striped tunic!
Thanks so much, Annie! You would love the dress!
Good haul, Jess! Thank you for sharing your online order! Wish loft stores would stock more stuff…in my last visit to loft 2 wks ago (my first time in over a year), I was so very disappointed with their lack of selection/stock compared to the past years….or maybe it's my imagination. lol Oh, I wanted to ask about your white ON super skinny rockstar jeans: are you wearing mid or high rise? Or unless, the label or official name of your jeans didnt specify which rise? Or better yet, do you remember the full official name of your white ON jeans here? Just curious cause I'd like to own white jeans and hoping ON might sell these in the future. I've never enjoyed shopping for jeans in general, cause it's so hard to find one that will help elongate my short stubby legs. Years ago even when bootcut was the trend, i even shopped at designer for jeans, and couldnt find anything. Anyway, stay cozy and warm! I heard there was a storm in the East coast and I am already cold here in FL at 30-40 at night.
Thanks Madie! It snowed big fluffy snowflakes yesterday and a lot of it melted today but more is on the way. I have to agree with you on the in store selection. I feel the same way about most retailers not just LOFT. If they want the stores to do better sales then perhaps they should try stocking more pieces in stores to give us a legit reason to stop by. Unless I'm right near the mall I only go in to do returns because I had to order what I know I cannot see or try on in stores.I bought my white ON jeans in 2013 per the inside label and I think high-rise is a few fit they introduced. The label doesn't specify which rise but they were the same rockstar super skinny jeans I have in other colors. There used to be so many colors and washes to choose from in the style but they've sold out over time. I still have my bootcut jeans but every time I put them on I'm like nope and back they go into storage. I should probably donate them so I have more space to store the clothes I actually wear. 🙂 My all time favorite white jeans are by Banana Republic in 2011 and 2012 but unless I lose a few inches in my waist they aren't as comfortable.
Yes, you are right about many stores having such sad in-store stock….and they wonder why people arent buying much. my local Gap had almost nothing to chose from….*cue tumbleweeds*. lol I remember 1-2 yrs back when LOFT sold those summer thin-cottony eyelet skirt in almost every color in their stores (remember those? colors were so cute but quality/fit wasnt so great); it seemed they had a good stock back then. Then when I went to Loft 2-3 wks ago, the petite section just mainly had jeans, 5 or so dressy tops, even fewer jackets/sweaters/dresses, and probably one skirt. the Lou and grey section had even fewer than 10 differ items to choose from. I think stores are forcing us to shop online….dont get me wrong, online shopping is gr8, but in-store shopping has its perks too like trying and finding something you thought you'd wouldnt like online. thank you again for helping me out with the ON white jeans. And yes, i agree not a big selection on colors for rockstar s.skinnies. Maybe ON will have some for spring since white is traditionally a 'spring' color. it's good that you've held onto your fav clothes from the past and they still work for you. i'm like that too. 😀 LOL @bootcut jeans going to storage. You know i've never been a huge fan of bootcut…i wore it b/c it helped make my legs look a bit leaner but hated the 'flare' of the bottom. Since I've always been self-conscious of my thicker short legs, my priority in finding jeans/pants is to to make my legs look lean and longer….so i'll buy almost any style even if outmoded….hence my purchase of a bootcut last year! lol I honestly would have never tried ON rockstar until I fell on your blog/instagram b/c i totally gave up on skinny jeans…i used to wear skinnies regularly in early 2000's but one day when i saw myself in mirror, i hated how my legs looked like sausages even with heels on. LOLWow, i talk so much. Anyway, thank you again Jess. It's always a pleasure reading your blog reviews and seeing your pics on instagram. I think we are quite similar in taste in that we are digging the neutral palette style….i never thought i'd care for neutrals…i always have thought of it as boring and quite hard to style for interest's sake, but it has grown on me in the past year. i'm finding neutrals very chic and like that they can go with pretty much each other. :)Anyway, bundle up, and stay warm. I heard there's a biggie storm going your way. I hope you have a nice thick puff coat to keep you warm when you brave the cold outdoors there in Boston.
Hm… It sounds like people are just snapping up more than they can keep in stock or on the shelves. I bet that the in-store only sales at AT and LOFT will probably turn into online sales at some point this weekend. We'll see. It's been a busy week so I apologize for the delay in my response. Work was quiet while we were digging out from all that snow for 2 days earlier this week but then everything came at me in full force towards the end of the week. Have a great weekend! 😀
