UPDATED FITTING ROOM REVIEWS
LEFT to RIGHT:
I ventured out to do some errands in the city and meet up with my husband after he got off work this past weekend. I also finally asked my tailor to put in 2.5″ slits in the back of two of my t-shirts with a smaller opening and I couldn’t believe they were charging $20 per shirt. It was really hot and sunny so I don’t know why I decided to wear a black dress with sleeves but I was so sticky and uncomfortable. I just had to get out of the dress pronto.

Ann Taylor Brushed Dash Shift Dress, size 00 regular
I was able to visit a bunch of stores all over Newbury Street instead of just dashing into one or two stores like I usually do. Of course I ended up visiting another Ann Taylor in search of a cooler outfit to change into. I bought this brushed dash shirt dress in 00 regular and it runs true to size. 0P might be a slightly better fit for me but I think size 00 regular looks pretty good even if it’s a little roomy in the waist and hips. I liked how the v-neck wasn’t too low for once and it drapes comfortably. Unfortunately I was wasn’t wearing the right color undergarments today (black) so I couldn’t wear the dress out since it’s lined but on the thinner side so nude undergarments are a must.
Size 00 regular measurements are as follows:
32.5 bust (measured pit to pit)
34″ total length
Update 7/19 – Care Instructions: Despite the care tag stating dry clean, I decided to wash the dress on cold in a intimates bag and air dried it without any mishap since it’s 100% polyester.
Next up I tried on this cute embroidered eyelet top in size XS regular with the city shorts since they were also 60% off. At first I tried on the top in the pink hint color but it was way too sheer so I ended up with the creme de menthe color which is a paler shade of green. I loved the top paired with the city shorts which have a longer 4.5″ inseam for a more polished look. I also love how these shorts do not wrinkle easily. The pockets are sewn shut but you can free them if you want to use them.
Ann Taylor Striped Shoulder Button Tee, size XS regular
I loved this striped shoulder button tee on the racks and I tried on both XS regular and S petite (S petite fit me slightly better but sorry no pictures). I thought it was a bit too sheer to pair with the white shorts because you can see the pokey waistband peeking through and a clear outline of the white shorts in the back. Again, I was wearing the wrong undergarments today otherwise this top might have worked if I decided to tuck it in but I generally prefer my tops untucked unless it’s a button down blouse.
I recently dropped and broke my iPhone case in one corner and sometimes Forever 21 has some cheap and cute ones so I stopped in to take a look. No iPhone cases caught my eye but I came across this cutout-back floral print dress and size XS seemed like it might fit me. Plus I’m a sucker for a cute floral print. Note the back is a more open cut but there’s a strap that should cover your bra strap perfectly if you’re just a tad taller than me. Size XS runs really big in the banded waist and is approximately 30-31″ if I had to guess. The straps were actually a bit too long on me so they were droopy on my shoulders. I’m pulling down and holding onto the dress in the pictures above but I think it’s meant for someone around 5’3″ and above or someone with a longer torso. The fabric is on the thinner side but it has a romantic, vintage look. The base color is cream not white as pictured here.
On our way home we had a craving for Ernesto’s pizza so we stopped by Assembly Row Outlets. I popped into J.Crew Factory in search of this pretty lace-front tank top that I saw on Mrs. Swansburg (I really love her style, check out her blog here). I was bummed I couldn’t find it but someone must have tried to hide it in a bin underneath a table. I saw the tell-tale lace peeking out and grabbed it. I tried on size XS regular and the arm holes were too big but I really liked the quality. I believe I need the top in size XSP. Apologies for the lack of try-on pictures.
J.Crew Factory Flutter-Sleeve Swiss-Dot Dress, size 00 regular
I also tried on this flutter-sleeve swiss-dot dress which kind of reminds me of this pleated chiffon t-shirt dress that I missed due to my almost singular focus on all things LOFT. I found 00 regular to try on but the arm holes are huge as you can see from the above right picture. If you wear a white bandeau bra then it may work since there will be some side bra peeking out. I carry a measuring tape on me so I measured the total length at 35″ which hits right above my knees. The dress doesn’t come in petites which is such a bummer as 00 regular is rather roomy in a hospital gown sort of way.
LOFT Outlet Floral Print Romper (style no. 370417), size 00P
I’ve been seeing the LOFT outlet accounts I follow on Instagram share some really cute new arrivals including this adorable floral romper (style no. 370417). It was hilarious to get this on so I passed but romper hoarding gals may want to snap this one up. It’s $69.99 and I think it was 60% off but not 100% positive. Various items were 40-60% off so I can’t remember with certainty.
LOFT Outlet Navy Scallop Diamond Textured Dress (style no. 378654), size 00P
I also tried on this adorable dress since I was drawn to the scallop neckline but size 00P was too tight in the arm holes and bust. Size 0P was more comfortable but the waist puffs out a bit too much so I passed. It would look really cute with a collared shirt layered under it and the thicker fabric is perfect for fall and winter.
