I finally got my hands on this pineapple lace shell when my size popped back in stock over a week ago. It’s a boxy fit and the regular missy length will work for petites. XXS regular is usually my preferred size at Ann Taylor for their tops and blouses.

Ann Taylor Striped Cotton Boatneck Tee in spice brown, size L regular
Ann Taylor Modern Super Skinny Ankle Jeans in white, size 25/0P (review here)
I noticed that Jules picked up this striped cotton boatneck tee the other day but I was only able to find it in the spice brown color at my local store. There was only size L left but I tried it on since it looked like it ran small/more fitted. Size L was a bit too loose in the sleeves and slightly long on me so I would probably need this top in size M regular.
I ordered this eyelet back top in white since I loved the sunray color and the half sleeves (review here). I actually wore it on Friday and I took a picture of my outfit in the fitting room quickly before I changed into a few tops I wanted to try on for sizing. I really love the length which is petite friendly in the regular missy sizing. I took size S regular but it fits like XSP in my opinion. FYI. I was able to wash this top in the cold wash and air dry it to prevent shrinking.
Ann Taylor Crepe Peplum Top, size XS regular
I was hoping to love this crepe peplum top but I was disappointed by how the weathered bloom color looked in person. It was not light pink as pictured on the website and it looked more like a lavender pink. Playing it safe, I decided to try on the black color but I didn’t like the slits on the sleeves. I’d say it fits true to size since XS regular was a bit loose and long on me. It’s definitely one of those peplum tops that you should try on first to see if it will drape well on your body type.

Ann Taylor Modern Super Skinny Ankle Jeans in white, size 25/0P
Ann Taylor Signature Laser Cut Crossbody Tote (review here, last seen here)
I wore the above outfit on Saturday night since I needed to return a pair of chucks that I had ordered online. My feet swell in the heat so they were too narrow and felt binding on due to the elastic but it is a cute, versatile sneaker. I had to go down half a size for the length since it has a very long toe cap. I tried on Cove style which are also slip-ons and they were much looser in the width but again this style is really long in the two cap so I would need to go down half a size.
Anyway I’m digressing but here are a few LOFT fitting room reviews from this weekend since they just extended the First Look event. Please refer to my previous post for my sales picks and fitting room reviews.
LOFT Cut Off Denim Shorts in White, size 24/00 regular
I tried on these cut off denim shorts since I was looking for them in the distressed dark indigo wash but I ended up getting these because they were 50% off online. The nice sales associate was able to honor the online promotion/price. Size 00/24 regular fit me but I noted that the waist measures 30″ so they do run bigger. These short fit me the same as the relaxed skinny denim shorts in vintage dark indigo I purchased and reviewed here. I have a shortage of denim shorts in my closet and this is my only second pair since I tried to cut and make my own last year from a pair of old jeans.
I wanted this umbrella infinity scarf so I was happy to find and try it on in stores. It’s a really cute print with beach umbrellas and ladies in itty bitty bikinis sunbathing. Refer to this clip I saved from my snapchat (username: whatjesswore) for a closer look at the print and the texture of the scarf. I’m waiting for it to go on further discount before I snap it up.
I was curious about the fit of XSP versus XXS regular for this top because I really wanted the floral print and my preferred size sold out. The top fits true to size but the arm holes are cut a bit more generously and for some reason the arm holes of size XSP above look even bigger on me than that of size XXS regular. The fresh sunflower color looks like this picture I took here so the name of the color seems rather fitting.
LOFT Palm Mixed Media Tank, size XSP
This mixed media tank caught my attention when I saw another customer with it in the store and she was trying various necklaces with it at checkout. I decided to grab it to try on because who doesn’t love palm print? I really like how it’s a flattering but loose drape and I found that it fits true to size. It’s also a good, longer length in the petite sizes so it covers the front and rear just enough which is my preference when wearing tanks untucked. It’s also available in a few other prints and colors here, here and here.
This seersucker collarless softened shirt looked deceptively cute on the racks but it was a poor fit on me due to the narrow sleeves especially at the forearms (my forearm measures 9″) and extra long overall length. The sizing is tricky for this shirt but ladies that normally wear regular missy sizing may want to check out this blouse in petite sizing for the correct right length. Regular missy sizes would probably fit ladies who usually prefer tall sizes at LOFT.
LOFT Lace Trim Dress, size XSP
I saw this lace trim dress on the return racks and I quickly snapped up size XSP to try. The color is a light, pale pink in person but the lining is thin so it’s very sheer. I could see my panty lines through the material and I also noticed that the back of this particular dress was defective. You can see the poor workmanship on the back of the dress since the lace hem refuses to lay well creating an indentation inwards. The lace hem pictures well but in person it’s see through so personally the dress felt even shorter to me and I would be very self conscious of exposing too much once I sat down.
