OOTD: Stripes & White Denim + Ann Taylor & LOFT Fitting Room Reviews

LOFT Striped Back Pleat Mixed Media Tank

Here’s an outfit I wore the other day featuring this LOFT striped back pleat mixed media tank which I managed to secure in size XXS regular. It fits true to size and the fit is very billowy as you can see in the back. I appreciate the longer overall length since it provides just the right amount of coverage in the front and backside. It’s not sheer with nude undergarments which is a plus. I also love these jeweled sandals which I picked up from T.J. Maxx recently in a cognac and nude color.

LOFT Denim Leggings in Vivid Dark Indigo Wash, size 25/0P (old, review here, similar here)

I was excited to find this strappy off the shoulder top at my local store today. The straps are not adjustable but they’re just thick enough that you might be able to get away wearing a normal bra with it. Size XS regular was a bit too loose on me so I ordered size XXS regular. I hope I secured my size and will hold my breath until they fulfill my order. Lately size XXS has been out of stock and items are cancelled if there’s any delay in when my order is processed by fulfillment. I’ve missed out on a few items (mostly from LOFT) much to my disappointment.

Ann Taylor Scalloped Lace Tee in misty blue, size XS regular

I tried on this scalloped lace tee as recommended by my sweet insta-friend Carolyn of HolisticIQ. She said she’s received numerous compliments wearing it so I had to give this top another shot. I originally saw it but didn’t try it on because the lace seemed a bit thick. Unfortunately, this top was slightly boxy on me and the inside lining doesn’t drape/lay quite right on me so a lot of the times it looked like the lining was puckered underneath if that makes any sense. The misty blue looks like a light seafoam green color in person.

Ann Taylor Matte Jersey Peplum Shell, size XSP

This matte jersey peplum shell is a wardrobe essential with the single flounce at the hem which is the perfect amount of feminine detail. The polyester material isn’t too see through with a skin colored bra. Size XSP was a bit snug on me in the bust and waist so I ordered both size SP and XS regular in illusion blue and winter white. I’d say this top fits true to size but I prefer a flowy, loose fit so I sized up. The illusion blue seems to only be available in regular missy sizing.

Lou & Grey Meshstitch Sweater, size XS regular

Lou & Grey Meshstitch Sweater in bleached shell, size XS regular

I wanted this Lou & Grey meshstitch sweater in bleached shell (pictured above) and morning tide blue (picture below). It’s an oversize fit and I liked how XS regular fit me in morning tide blue but it looks like someone might have washed/stretched out and returned the bleached shell color so it didn’t come home with me. I hope to find it in stores since I still have another cash card left to use up. My friend snagged the one below so we’ll be twinning in the office.

LOFT Shirttail Top, size S regular

LOFT Shirttail Top, size S regular

I tried on this shirttail top in size S regular since XS regular wasn’t available. The shoulders seams were a bit wide on me so I’m pretty sure XS regular is my best size. I’d say this top runs true to size. I’m always looking for simple white tops that will layer well under jackets and cardigans. This top is a thicker polyester material so it isn’t see through with a nude bra. It’s also drapes well and doesn’t come across looking too boxy/short.

Lastly, I wanted to share an update for one of the beauty products I purchased. I rarely wear
sleeveless dresses and tops on their own since I’ve had
keratosis pilaris (KP) on the back of my upper arms for a few years. It wouldn’t have bothered me too much except my family members use to point it out which made me extremely self-conscious. Wearing cardigans and light jackets even in the summer heat became essential. At
the beginning of the month, I purchased Cure Natural Aqua gel as recommended by Miriam
on her snapchat (I noticed she briefly reviewed it in 2011 so it looks like shes’ been using it for about 5 years now). The recommended use is 1-2 times weekly but when I
first received it I used it every day and in the morning and/or at night for a few days in a row since I don’t have sensitive skin.
You’ll know when you don’t need to use it if your dead skin cells don’t
roll up into little balls as expected. I have combination skin on my face and I
used to have stubborn dry patches on the bridge and sides of my nose no matter how much I moisturized. The gel has made my skin smooth on my
face and other parts of my body (e.g. feet, knees and elbows). It also
helped to reduce some of the bumps (blocked hair follicles) and subsequent redness for my KP. It’s a
gentle exfoliant so I probably need to try a sea salt scrub for the best
results but so far the gel has personally worked better for me than Paula’s Choice skin revealing body lotion with 10% AHA. I may also try laser hair removal on my arms but I need to do further research.

Thanks for reading!
