I hope everyone had a good start to the week! It was another cold weekend here in New England and I stayed in to do more spring cleaning. I managed to list more items on my Poshmark closet and the week before I had sent out a large thredUP clean out bag.
I really wanted to shop both sales for LOFT and Ann Taylor but I decided to hold out until midnight tonight while it’s technically Tuesday Eastern time but Monday Pacific time to save an extra 15% off at checkout. As a LOVELOFT cardholder, I love when a good sale falls on the first Tuesday of the month since this extra discount works on top of all discounts and promotions. The downside of waiting to order is running the risk of having my size sell out in the more popular items. LOFT is really good at the shop now, shop later (hello, LOFT cash) and shop often strategy so there will also be new arrivals to peruse come midnight. Per their comments, this floral flounce dress will be available on March 7th! 12-3AM ET is the sweet spot of the tail-end of this current sale so I’m going to make my orders count.
Please check out my previous LOFT fitting room reviews here and my Ann Taylor fitting room reviews here. I always share the latest sale alerts, coupon codes and cardmember codes here.
LOFT Open Pocket Cardigan, size XS regular (last seen here)
LOFT Flutter Peplum Top, size XXS regular (old)
Old Navy High Rise Rockstar Distressed Jeans, size 2P (old)
Converse Shoreline Sneaker (now back in stock in many sizes)
Gucci Abbey Tote (old from 2007)
Update 3/7/17: Here is what I ended up ordering at LOFT.
I was able to get the automatic 15% to apply at checkout at LOFT right after midnight ET but the discount didn’t work on Ann Taylor’s site even after clearing my cache.
Here is what I ended up ordering at Ann Taylor for an average price per item of about $30 (the camis aren’t a good deal post the previous sale but I really wanted to try them). I was trying to keep my order close to $175 for free ship. I will see which items are keepers once I receive them and I ordered some sale items I’ve never tried on before.
FYI. I ended up using a $30 off $60+ code in addition to the automatic 15% off at check out. Ann Taylor had asked me to stop sharing these codes back in September so I cannot share these specific GIFT coupon codes publicly on my blog anymore. On the other hand, they don’t seem to have an issue when I share the latest THANKS coupon code but THANKS1 for $50 off +$100 full price promotional items wouldn’t take. Update: The code THANKS8 works and I accidentally placed a second order when testing it (fat fingers lol since it wasn’t a significant price difference to reorder and I swear I didn’t mean to do it). I called and their customer service will waive the return shipping on whichever order I decide to return to the warehouse.
I had the pleasure of hosting another style event at my local LOFT store at the Prudential center with my coworkers last Thursday. I tried on some of the new arrivals on my wishlist but I only ended up taking home the daisy bell sleeve top in size XXSP (review here) and the ruffle cuff top (last seen here) which I ordered in size XXS regular in black.
LOFT Tie Cuff Open Cardigan, size XS regular
LOFT Mixed Floral Lace Shell, size XXSP (review here, last seen here)
I saw one of my coworkers trying on this cardigan and I went back to grab it too since I missed it. Size XS regular fits really long lengthwise (I’m 5’2″) but this cardigan is only offered in regular missy sizes when I checked the online store locator. It’s item no. 432140 if you’re looking for it in store. It runs true to size and also comes in a dark grey color.
LOFT Meadow Dress, size XS regular
I had high hopes for this meadow dress after seeing it on LOFT’s instagram here. Unfortunately I do not have a slender waist like their model. I have minimal curves and I’m more straight up and down (32-28-34) so I found that the ruffles were too overwhelming on my petite frame. The elastic hit at an odd spot higher on my waist while the skirt hit below the knees making me feel frumpy. One of my petite coworkers also tried on this dress but it was a no-go for the both of us for the aforementioned reasons. It runs true to size but the particular cut and style would be flattering on more slender frames and height boosting heels/wedges are a must.
LOFT Blossom Off The Shoulder Top, size XS regular
This blossom print top is really beautiful and well made. It’s meant to be worn off the shoulder but it also looks fine if you wear it on your shoulders for more coverage. It runs true to size and I would need my usual size XXS regular. The print is personally too bold for me so I passed on this top but I can’t wait to spot it on the stylish Boston ladies this spring and summer.
LOFT Pintucked Lace Ruffle Top, size XSP
I love the pretty floral details this top but I found that it’s really sheer on the bottom and it runs one size bigger. I would need this top in size XXSP for a better fit. If you’re interested in this top I would suggest going down one size.
Lou & Grey Texturist Sweater, size XS regular
I love white sweaters so of course I grabbed this Lou & Grey sweater to try. It has a pretty texture to it and it’s slightly sheer. Size XS regular was a bit roomy on me so I would need it in my usual size XXS regular. My favorite Lou & Grey (pink) meshstitch sweater also returns this season. I forgot to note the style number because I thought I would be able to find it online. It should be available for purchase online soon.
Lou & Grey Signaturesoft Pocket Tunic Tee, size XS regular
I tried on this soft tunic tee but it runs large so I would need this in size XXSP for a better fit. I love Lou & Grey’s signaturesoft material because it washes well.
LOFT Striped Ruffle Shoulder Tee, size XS regular
I tried on this striped ruffle shoulder tee that I wanted but I forgot to take a picture (blogger fail). Luckily, my friend Su took a fitting room picture to share with me this weekend and she let me use her picture above. I struggled to get this top on and off since I found that the opening was really small. Strangely enough, my online True Fit profile recommended size XXSP but I found that size XS regular was too snug in the waist. Su also tried it on in the same size and she agreed that it runs snug. This is the first time my True Fit profile was really off for my recommended size. I would recommend sizing up in your usual LOFT size for this top as it has a more junior fit to it versus a missy fit.
