Happy Friday! I’ sharing this spring look in anticipation of a few days of warmer temperatures next week. SALE ALERT & FITTING ROOM REVIEWS
I tried on a few items last weekend and I have an obsession with white and neutrals as you can see from the above lineup.
LOFT Sateen Five Pocket Legging Jeans in Marisa Fit, size 27/4P (old/sold out)
I ordered this ruffle shell in XXSP but I wanted to try size XSP for comparison. I would prefer to exchange size XXSP for size XSP since the bust runs small and narrow but I forgot to bring the top with me. This top fits me best in my usual size XSP at Ann Taylor. If I keep size XXSP then I would have to wear a cami since I would need to leave one button open and/or sew a hidden snap button. The top is slightly sheer since you can see the outline of my white pants.
I love the scallop details of this sweater and it looked like it ran small and snug so I sized up to size SP. Size SP is still a bit more fitted in the body than I am comfortable with (you can see the bumps from my pants underneath). I’ll have to try size MP to see if it’s too loose on me in the body and sleeves. It’s not too short when I sized up so I like the overall length and sleeve length. The sweater isn’t too thick making it perfect for the cooler spring temperates.
Ann Taylor Cascading Ruffle Shell, size XSP
I love the ruffle details of this top but size XSP was a bit too long and loose on me so I would need it in size XXSP for the best fit. It’s not see through for a white top which is great because I hate having to wear a cami underneath which tends to ruin the look. The petite sizes may fit those that typically take regular missy sizes given the slightly larger fit and overall length.
This adorable scallop hem top fits true to size but it has a short overall length so petites would be too short for my preference. I found the 3/4 sleeves to be a bit long for my arms making them almost bracelet length sleeves on me. The material is a good weight so it’s not see through.
Ann Taylor Crepe Shell, size XS regular
I’m always on the hunt for the perfect layering shell so I tried on this top but I found that it runs wide and has a shorter length. It fits similar to the tassel bib sleeveless blouse which I reviewed here.
Ann Taylor Sleeveless Vest, size XS regular
Lastly, I tried on this sleeveless vest which I had ordered in XXS in both black and whisper white. Despite ordering both vests in size XXS, the white color fit smaller (I couldn’t wrap it around my waist) while the black color somehow fit larger/looser. The black one was also noticeably longer in the overall length. I tried on size XS regular in store and the length hits right above my knee caps (I’m 5’2″). The winter white color is more ivory/cream so if you’re looking for a true white vest then you will need to keep looking.
Earlier this week the wool cashmere sweater jacket that I’ve been stalking finally popped back in my size so I placed an order on Tuesday 4/4.
