This work week just flew by due to the four day weekend. I bought this scalloped swimsuit a while ago but this past weekend was my first time swimming in a very long time. Hopefully my husband and I get to the pool and beach more often this summer!
Note that I had to shorten the straps on this suit quite a bit and I wish I ordered size 2 since it does run big/loose. Last year I ordered another suit from LOFT but it was a different style which ran really small. For this scalloped one piece, my mom cut off one folded scalloped section on on each side. I’m tempted to re-order it in size 2 since sizes have been popping back due to the issue with the strap length. I like that this suit isn’t too high cut or cheeky in the rear.

I ordered this off the shoulder top in size XXS petite after trying on size XS regular in store here. This top still runs really wide in the smallest size as you can see from this clip. Size XXS petite fits like a loose size XS petite or possibly S petite. Against my better judgement I kept this top and probably should have returned it since it’s not the best fit on me. I love the eyelet detail mixed with the pretty floral print.

Uniqlo Women High Waist Chiffon Pleated Skirt, size XS
I stopped by Uniqlo this past weekend and I saw this pretty pleated maxi skirt (available in four colors) for $29.90. I really wanted the more versatile natural color but size XS sold out in that color in store so I took home the pink color. I took size XS regular which fits a bit snug on me right now. Size XS is meant for a 24-25″ waist and is 32.5″ long. The skirt is fully lined so it is not see through. Out of all my tops I like it best styled with an old cropped lace top I’ve had for a few years.

As mentioned further up this post, this off the shoulder top runs one to two sizes bigger. I returned the dress below which is also size XXSP but fits more like size XS regular. I did not love the dress enough to keep it since it looks shapeless on me. Refer to this clip for another view of the dress on me. I kept the top and wore it out for the 4th of July but I probably should have returned it too due to the oversize fit. When things don’t fit me well I tend to tire of it a lot sooner and/or regret my decision to keep it.

I was curious about this field jacket and tried it on for size. It fits true to size but it has a relaxed, shapeless fit. If you prefer jackets that fit like a soft shirt then you may want to give this jacket a try. Alternatively, you may want to try this camo cargo jacket.
LOFT Striped Elbow Sleeve Tee, size XS regular
This striped tee is a great layering piece and I like the elbow sleeve length. I found that it runs true to size and it has a relaxed fit. You may want to size down for a more fitted look. The overall length provides great coverage.
LOFT Custom Stretch Pencil Pants in Marisa Fit, size 24/00P
I wasn’t even looking for dress pants but I noticed these black pants in the sale section this past weekend when it was an extra 60% off sale items so I ended up getting these for only $11.90 on Tuesday after the cardmember discount. The material is a breathable weight for the summer and these actually fit my thighs and rear. They’re ankle length on me which is perfect with both heels and flats. I am usually size 25/0 petite for LOFT bottoms so these pants run one size bigger in the waist since I was able to fit in size 24/00 petite. Refer to this clip for another view of the fit on me.
Ann Taylor Sleeveless Top, size XXSP (review of size XXS regular here)
I exchanged this sleeveless top for size XXS petite and it still fits a bit loose on me but I really love the thicker straps. This top makes a great layering piece and it also looks great on it’s own. The polyester material not too see through either. Refer to this clip for another view of size XXS petite on me. I would recommended going down a size in this top for the best fit.
Ann Taylor Tie Sleeve Blouse, size XSP (review of size XS regular here)
This tie sleeve blouse is on my wishlist. I found that it fits true to size and the bows on the half sleeves are such a pretty detail. I wanted the white color but it is very sheer. I thought I wanted the striped version but I didn’t like it when I saw it in person here. Maybe next time I’ll try it on since some tops look much better on than when you look at them on the hanger.
Ann Taylor Scalloped Eyelet Top, size XSP
I’ve passed by this top and the dress on the racks since the style and lace looks deceptively thick so I wasn’t interested in trying it on the top until I saw this scalloped top on @jeanwang. The lace is softer when you actually feel it and try it on but the overall length is cropped for a swingy fit. I found that it runs true to size. I noticed that the white dress has been very popular since I’ve seen many associates wear it. The shift style dress is shapeless but I loved how it looked when I saw a random customer wear it out of the store styled with a thick belt for a casual, effortless look.
Ann Taylor Ruffle Cap Sleeve Top, size XSP
Su @allaboutloft recommended this cap sleeve top but it wasn’t flattering on me since it’s a bit more form fitting than I prefer. I found that it fits true to size. I prefer more body skimming tops like the sleeveless top I reviewed above.
Ann Taylor Factory Birds of Paradise Off The Shoulder Dress (style no. 434153) – $89.99
This birds of paradise print was one of my favorite prints from last summer (refer to this post here). I was at the Ann Taylor Factory store two weekends ago when I saw this print available as an off the shoulder dress, t-shirt and shorts. Only the dress was available in petites and XSP fit like a sack on me but I was too lazy to try it on in XXSP. This bold summer print is sure to get a lot of compliments if it fits you.
Topshop Daisy Ruffle Wrap Tea Dress, size 2
I’ve seen so a few fellow bloggers I follow rave about this stripe wrap Topshop dress but I found that it fit really big in size 4. The wrap style at the chest was very open and it wouldn’t stay closed so I think you would have to have a broader torso in order to properly fit the dress. See it on the lovely

I admittedly don’t shop very much at Nordstrom because I haven’t found a brand that fits me well yet although my favorite purchase is a cropped utility jacket I got last year. I love Pleione‘s style but they seem to run big even in petites. I rely on other bloggers for ideas on what to order. For example, I’m currently eyeing this floral ruffle cold shoulder top as seen on @sunsetsandstilettos. Also, how adorable is this bow front top? I just ordered it in size XXSP to try.

This past Tuesday I ordered this new white eyelet flounce dress in store but I won’t be able to get to my package until I’m back in town the following weekend.
