Happy Friday eve! I loved this Uniqlo maxi skirt in pink (last seen here) so when I saw the new floral print I had to order it to try since it's only $29.90. I ordered the gray and black colors and I also ordered the solid color (now on sale for $19.90) in natural. This time I took size S since size XS is snug on me. If you have wider hips (35"+ hips) but a smaller waist you may have issues pulling size XS over your hips. I styled the skirt two ways to help me decide if I should keep it. Update: This skirt is back for spring/summer 2018 here!
Uniqlo Women's High-waist Printed Chiffon Pleated Skirt in black, size S
Nicole Marciano Hat (from TJ Maxx)
Kailani Sandals by Restricted in tan/cognac (true to size, now $39.99)
For the first look I paired the skirt with a simple striped t-shirt from Lou & Grey. I knotted it on the side since the shirt didn't look as good tucked in due to sizing up. So many people make the side knots look effortless but it took me a few tries to tie the shirt so that it looked just right. I also tucked the excess fabric from the length of the shirt so that it wouldn't bunch up. I love maxi skirts paired with cropped tops or a knotted button up shirt to create the illusion of length on the bottom since I'm only 5' 2.5".
For the second look I paired the skirt with a scallop tank (recommended by Annie @stylishpetite) and my trusty open collar blazer from Forever 21. My blazer is a dupe of the Aritzia Wilfred Chevalier jacket. I love and would wear this outfit for work. The darker floral print also makes it easy to transition into the fall with booties and a sweater or jacket thrown over it.
Speaking of booties, the Vince Camuto Fileana booties I ordered during the #nsale were cancelled but when I checked on the inventory they are back in stock and not back-ordered anymore. I'll try to reorder them and hope my order goes through. Per Annie @stylishpetite's tip, Nordstrom should honor the sale price if your #nsale order was cancelled. Update 8/25: The booties are backordered again and I'm super bummed since they're similar but different from my Franell booties (last seen here). I'll keep checking on them and will hope I can use Annie's tip to get a price adjustment.

I love this pink feminine outfit and I'm really glad I picked up this maxi skirt. I know it will be a closet favorite for many summers. Hopefully I can find size S for a more comfortable fit so that I can let go of size XS.
LOFT Modern Skinny Ankle Jeans in Destructed Light Stonewash, size 24/00 regular (hemmed, last seen here)
I love this comfy casual look fore the weekends since I can't wear distressed jeans to work. How gorgeous is the lace detail on the sleeves of this tee?
Old Navy Classic Shirt in foxes print, size XSP
Talbots Francesca Flower-Topped Perforated Driving Flats (old/sold out)
Zara Convertible Bucket Bag (item ref no. 4788/204, now sold out)
I ordered this button down in XSP after trying on size SP last week. Size XSP fits me much better for a comfortable, relaxed fit. Out of the two prints I ordered I like the fox print more since the heart print fits slightly looser and the thinner stripes and material looks nicer in the fox print. Here is a look at both prints in good lighting. See the heart print shirt on me here and the fox print shirt on me here. Refer to this clip to see the 22.5" sleeves uncuffed.
Anthropologie Bunny Ring Dish (old favorite)
Here is a close up of these circle drop earrings that I'm obsessed with lately. They add just the right amount of interest to many of my outfits without being too much. I love unique, minimal pieces that make a statement.
FITTING ROOM REVIEWS
I loved this sweater when I saw it on Tracey of @mysecretlookbook in her Instagram stories so I ordered it last week when it was 50% off and free shipping. Of course the next morning it was 60% off. Just my luck right? Size XS regular fits me well and I was anxious to know how it would fit so I tried it on when I found it in store last week.
LOFT Fringe Tweed Shift Dress, size 0P
I loved this new arrival tweed dress on Ashley @cappyandlee (for reference she took size S and she is 5'8") and I ordered it on sale last week. The dress fits true to size and size XSP fit me well but I wonder if I should try XXSP for comparison to see if it fits slightly better. I also love that the dress has pockets! I'm on the hunt for a cute cropped navy jacket now since I like how Ashley styled it. I have yet to try it with a button down shirt underneath but the looser fit makes it perfect for layering.
One of my followers asked me to try on this new suede skirt. I tried on size 0P but it was much too loose on me so I went back for size 00P. Size 00P fits me well and it has a 26.5" waist, 17.75" total length so it isn't too short and it measures 40" along the bottom hem. The zip detail pockets are functional. The faux suede material looks and feels very nice.

This top is really cute but you have to be careful about the cutout detail along the bust. It can easily show the outline of the bra if you don't adjust the top especially if you're wearing a normal bra. I found that it runs one size bigger since size XXSP fits like size XSP.
I was looking to try this collarless denim jacket and my online True Fit profile actually recommended size XS regular. I finally found it to try on this past weekend and size XS regular fits like XS petite. The sleeves are longer on me so I would have to wear them cuffed at least twice. I love the light wash and cropped fit/shorter length.
LOFT Skinny Utility Zip Pants in Marisa Fit in quicksand, size 2P - now only $22!
My coworker Holly @secondstarscript swears by these pants and I tried them on thanks to her suggestion and they are so comfortable! I tried on size 00P below but I thought I needed size 0P since the smallest size was too snug for me to button up easily. The sales associate misheard and brought me 2P which fit me comfortably so I would say these pants fit true to size. You can size up if you don't want them to be too tight. I love the slim legs and narrow ankle opening with the zipper detail. I couldn't see myself wearing these in the summer due to this darker khaki color but they'll be perfect for fall. The best part? They were only $22 after discounts! Size 2P has a 28.5" waist and a 26.5" inseam.
LOFT Skinny Zip Utility Pants in Marisa Fit in classic pistachio, size 00P
I wanted this soft cold shoulder top but unfortunately my size XXS regular is sold out in the white color. I tried on size S which was much too loose on me so I'm pretty sure I need my usual size XXS regular. The material is not too thin and see through.
(sold out on loft.com but you can still purchase it via Lou & Grey)
I also tried on this tie sleeve tee which is on sale for 24.99 and an extra 60% off in stores making it only $10. It's currently sold out on loft.com but you can still buy it through the Lou & Grey site. Size XS regular fit me well and it runs true to size and has a loose, relaxed fit.
I tried on the items I received in the mail yesterday and I loved the poplin twist front seersucker dress. I ordered size 0P which fit true to size. The straps cut in more so you'll have to carefully tuck in your nts straps if you usually wear a normal bra. I almost didn't order the dress because seersucker is more of a summer ptimh and I'm surprised that Ann Taylor released it so late in the season. Refer to this clip for a better view of the fit on me. At first glance I do wish the bust darts fit me better so although I love the unique twist detail at the waist I really need to make an unbiased decision to keep or return the dress.
I also received the pinstripe knotted tee dress but size XXS regular was too long so I would need to try it on in XSP. The knotted detail was not in the right place on me in the regular missy size since it's meant for someone taller and with a longer torso. The material is stretchy and cool to the touch. The tie sleeve open cardigan fit me true to size in XXS regular. The striped puff sleeve tee fit about one size bigger. It was too long and loose on me in size XXS regular and I wish it was offered in petites. I'm apologize for the lack of pictures but we have family over and I haven't had a chance to take my usual selfies. My little niece and nephew also stuck stickers all over my mirror that I need to clean and remove.
Anh @9to5chic is one of my favorite style partners with Ann Taylor. She looked effortlessly chic in this dress so I had to try it on for size. The dress fits true to size but the bust runs smaller which works for my small chest (I'm 32A in petite bras). You may want to size up if you have a larger chest. I don't love the dress by itself due to all the ruffles but it looks great balanced with a blazer over it as styled by Anh.
This top is another try-on thanks to Ashley @cappyandlee. Ashley shared size XS regular in her Instagram stories and I added it to my list of things to try. It's made of a very thick material so it's not see through and the color is ivory/off white. The top has a very generous, tent-like fit so I would suggest going down one to two sizes. I would need this top in XXSP for the best fit. Refer to the pretty v-shaped detail in the back here which you can probably reverse and wear in front too.
I tried on size XS regular in store and it's a good thing I had ordered size XXS regular already. Otherwise I would have passed on this top based on how XS regular fit since the sleeves didn't drape as expected. I also just received size XXS regular in the mail last night and I'm in love with the fit. The sleeves didn't stick out strangely which I thought they did in the larger size I had tried. I'd say this top fits true to size and it has a flattering a-line fit.
I tried on this sleeveless shell since I love the trellis floral print. Size XXSP fit me but I would prefer my usual size XSP for a more flowy, comfortable fit through the waist and hips. I'd say this top fits true to size and I like that the v-neck is not too low cut. The buttons are functional making it easier to take off and pull over your head. The tie neck detail looks good draped loosely as designed. The shirttail hem isn't cut too high so you should be able to lift your arms without worry of exposure.
J.Crew Factory Edie Leather Loafers in warm beige
Lately I've been favoring flats and I prefer neutrals so these Edie loafers are a contender. I found that they fit true to size but my tired, swollen shopping feet preferred the next half size up for a more comfortable fit. Other flats I'm eyeing are these pale pink Cole Haan flats, these cap toe Cole Haan flats, these new Francesca bow-front driving flats and the Francesca button suede driving flats from Talbots. I also checked out the new leopard print haircalf bow flats from Ann Taylor but I realized I'm not a huge fan of haircalf. I'll have to try them on in a future visit to see if I like them better on.
I love the idea of trench capes and I was curious about this one after seeing it on a few bloggers I follow. The overall length is short so XS regular is a very petite friendly length and fit. I love how the jacket looks from the front but I wasn't in love with the back view. I would have preferred if the jacket had more movement or detailing in the back for added interest.
New Balance for J.Crew 247 Sneakers
I spotted these gorgeous white sneakers at J.Crew. Everything from the New Balance for J.Crew collection always makes me want to throw money at them. I'll have to keep an eye out for a better sale before I pull the trigger.
