I love this romper and I found that it runs true to size. I went down a size due to the first online reviewer’s comment and luckily size XXSP fits me since I have a small chest. The smocked portion on top has a snug hold across the bust so it shouldn’t really get dragged down due to the weight of the garment. If you have a smaller chest like me then you might want to try sizing down since the fit is meant to be very loose so you may prefer the closer fit of the next size down. The smocked portion ends above my natural waist giving it a high waisted look. I love the thicker straps which cover my bra straps an the fact that it has pockets. The inseam is a good cropped length on me perfect with either heels or flats.
For reference I’m 5’2.5″ and currently 102-105 pounds due to being on the AIP diet as recommended by my functional medicine doctor.

I have the lighter wash of these chewed hem jeans and I love this darker wash as well. I received the current season’s version of these jeans and the inseam is noticeably longer than the lighter pair (reviewed here). My usual size 25/0P measured 28″ in the waist and it has a 26″ inseam which I prefer.

I love the tie cuffs on these jeans and I took my usual size 25/0P which has a 28″ waist and 23.5″ inseam. The day I took this photo and video clip I was not happy with the loose fit on my thin thighs. (I have been trying to eat more so that I can fill out my pants properly since the AIP diet is very limiting.) If you like the tie cuff you may also be interested in this white version from Ann Taylor which I reviewed here. Of the two pairs the LOFT version has a stretchier waist since it’s 77″ cotton, 21% polyester and 2% elastane while the Ann Taylor version is 98% cotton and 2% elastane.
FITTING ROOM REVIEWS

Here are some pieces that I tried on from the recent LOFT Friends & Family event (more items reviewed below than pictured above).

I loved this sweater as seen on Shannon‘s Instagram stories try-ons (I finally met her during the LOFT even and she’s so sweet!). I probably would have preferred my usual size XXS regular but I liked the loose and relaxed fit of size XS regular. I didn’t find that it was too sheer but it’s definitely a lightweight sweater that’s perfect for spring and summer as an easy throw on piece.

LOFT has so many cute Zebra print items this season including this scarf which I love. I fit size XXSP due to my smaller chest but I would say that this runs true to size and it may run a bit narrow at the chest. For once the v-neck is not too low and revealing. I also like the length and flow of this piece as well as the flattering shirttail hem. I am not a fan of tops that don’t allow me to wear a regular bra so I’m on the fence about this top although I’m sure I would just keep a cardigan or jacket over it if I do get it. I am still on the look out for the dress which is on my wishlist.

I love the pretty lacy detail and thin stripes of this top. It runs true to size one size bigger and it’s a great longer length in petites (not too short) and not boxy either. I decided to size down for a closer fit and I took home size XXSP. I could see my bra from the sides in size XSP and the arm holes were better for me in the smaller size.

Shannon also tried on this cute giraffe print in her Instagram try-ons last week and I had to try it on for myself. It was too loose and baggy in my usual size XSP. I would suggest going down one to two sizes for a closer fit since this top fits like a paper bag. It’s a very wide top but the giraffes and color are a very cute combination.

I love this red color but note that this color is currently in stores first but it had the same item number as the marigold top I linked to. I meant to order this top once I got home but that’s when I realized the red color was in stores first.

I also ordered this top in the stripe version which I love although it is slightly sheer but okay with a nude bra but you may still prefer to wear a layering cami underneath. This top runs wide and at least one size larger so I would suggest sizing down for a more flattering fit. I had ordered my usual size XXS regular but when I took photos I could see how shapeless it was. For reference the measurements of size XXS regular in the stripe top is: 36″ chest (measured pit to pit), 23.25″ total length and 38.5″ across the bottom hem. If you like this style (I think the sleeves are adorable) it is also available in a floral print.

I love this skirt and the fact that it has pockets. I had to size down in this skirt since it runs very big. Size XXSP has a 26.5 waist unstretched and it stretches comfortably to a ~28″ waist. Size XXSP was 17″ in the overall length so it is very short but the shorter length works for the summer. The skirt is fully lined and not see through.

LOFT Modern Skinny Chewed Hem Jeans in Dark Indigo Wash, size 25/0P (review above)
I like the pretty lace details on the shoulders for added interest. This tee runs true to size in my usual size XSP for a relaxed fit. I didn’t love it on me untucked but it should look really cute tucked into skirts.

This lily print is gorgeous and I fit my usual size XSP. The dress is thin and unlined but not see through. It is 100% rayon so I’m nervous to wash it (if anyone has successfully washed it please share so I can feel at ease). The length is perfect, it’s not too wide so there’s no extra fabric on the sides unlike some LOFT dresses when belted. I like that the v-neck isn’t too low. The measurements of size XSP are as follows:
36″ bust (measured pit to pit)
36″ at the natural waist
33″ total length
44″ along the bottom hem
Update 5/7: I’m happy to report that this lily print dress washed well on cold and air dried. It didn’t shrink on me which has been my past experience with 100% rayon.

I love the blue and white stripes of this shirtdress but if you view the two video clips I linked to you’ll see the amount of excess material on the sides of the hips. I tried on size XXSP as well but it still felt a few sizes too big and the all of the extra material bunches in an unflattering way when I try to belt it. I would go down at least two sizes in this dress for a closer fit. This dress would likely be best suited for more curvy figures that are able to fill out the hips better where the excess fabric is.

I’m still on the hunt for this dress in size XXSP. My usual size XSP is a loose fit on me. I keep trying it on since I like the colors and the sleeves.

These dress pants run about one size bigger. I carry a measuring tape on me and size 00P has a 29.5″ waist and 23.5″ inseam. I would suggest going down a size but unfortunately I am sized out of these pants. For reference a 0P in LOFT pants usually has a 28″ waist.

I ordered these white jeans to try and I found that the 27″ inseam is a bit longer than I prefer and the thighs are very loose on me. Size 25/0P has the usual 28″ waist but the ankle opening is not as narrow as I prefer and measured 11″.

I received this stripe ruffle cuff tee and size XXSP has a very relaxed fit (it fit more like a loose size XSP). The waist down is shapeless/wider so it looks best knotted on one side to give the top a bit more shape. I wanted the option to tuck in the tee but there is too much excess fabric on the sides to tuck it in cleanly. Note this tee is available in petite sizes but it was so popular that the petite sizes sold out rather quickly online.

I ordered this rose embroidered flare sleeve top in size XXS regular but it was too wide and boxy on me. The measurements of size XXS regular are: 36″ chest (pit to pit), 23″ total length and 41″ along the bottom hem. The sleeves are cute but since I have smaller 14″ shoulders they caved inwards instead of staying up and puffy. If you have broader shoulders then this top will look really cute since I saw two people wearing it during the LOFT event this past weekend. You can also see this top styled by the stylish Becky who wore it during the LOFT event this past Sunday. Update 5/8: If you like this style this top is now available in yellow!
Lastly, I tried on this fern wrap romper but unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to take photos. The top portion runs very long in 00P which is the smallest size. I was able to pull about 4 extra inches of length to demonstrate how long the top portion was on me while the waist fit me well. This romper seems like it’s meant for someone with a much longer torso so I recommend trying the petite sizing over regular missy sizes for the best fit.
I intended to share more styled looks but I really need to head to bed for an 8:30AM meeting at work. I’ll try to share another blog post soon but I know some of you may be looking for new reviews so I wanted to wrap up this post first.
Happy shopping!
