Happy Friday! Well technically we’re on the cusp of Saturday as I publish this post but hey it’s the weekend. I finally sat down to write this overdue review post last night but it took me a while to finish between two sittings. It’s a long one so kudos if you make it to the very end. I received my latest LOFT order in the mail this afternoon so I’ll try to share another update on how those items fit rather than trying to cram them into this post too.

This striped skirt is so lovely with this off white blouse and it fits true to size. I ordered my usual size 0P after trying on size 0 regular which was a bit loose. Note that the waist has no stretch to it. I actually wanted to try size 00 regular but my preferred size sold out quickly so I hope I don’t lose the midi length look by ordering size 0 petite. The buttons down the front are functional and the skirt is fully lined so it’s not see through. I noticed that the chevron stripes on the side seams do not match up perfectly. Update 6/10: Size 0 petite has a 27″ waist and it’s 24.5″ long in the front and 25″ long in the back. Unfortunately the hips of size 0P didn’t drape as nicely as the regular missy size.

This understated blouse is a closet staple and the polyester material is not too thin so it’s not see through with a nude bra. The elasticized sleeves may be a bit snug but I didn’t fit it to be uncomfortable. I tried on size XXSP above and size XSP below and the elasticized sleeves were more comfortable in size XSP however the top was less boxy in the smaller size and tucked in cleaner. The blouse runs true to size for a relaxed fit.

I needed a pair of bottoms to try on with tops that day so I grabbed these dark wash jeans to try. These jeans fit more snug at the waist and through the pant legs in my usual size 25/0 petite. I would recommend going up a size from your usual size at LOFT for comfort. I had to peel them off. They’re not very soft either but they look slimming due to the dark wash.

The embroidered detail on this blouse is so lovely and for once the flutter sleeves are just right versus being too overwhelming. This blouse has a flowy fit but it fits true to size to one size larger. I prefer the length of the regular missy size but according to True Fit my recommended size is size XXSP. The top is slightly sheer since you can make out the outline of my bra and the dark jeans I’m trying on in the above photos so a layering cami is recommended.

The white embroidered flowers on this dress really pop against the black fabric. My usual size XSP is a looser fit at the waist since the dress is really wide but you can cinch it a the waist with the thin ribbon tie they provide. The length is a few inches above my knees. For reference, I’m 5′ 2.5″. I didn’t try on size XXSP since it looked a bit shorter in the overall length.

I love the arrow print and olive color of this dress. My usual size XSP fit me well in the waist except the arm holes were a bit generous so I could see my bra from the sides when I raised my arms. I probably need this dress in size XXSP for the best fit. Update 7/1: I received size XXSP in the mail and the torso fits me better but the arm holes are still a tad generous although slightly better than how they were in size XSP.

This little black dress was on my wish list and it runs one size bigger since 00P fits like size 0P. Unfortunately the bust and bust darts runs a lot bigger and I’m a 32A in petite bras so the chest was very ill-fitting as seen here. Refer to the online review for the person that’s very close to my height and weight. She mentioned that she is 5’3″, 108 lbs, 34DD and according to her the dress fits her everywhere.

I loved the simplicity of this navy dress and the crossover flounce hem. The middle comes up higher which it adds some interest. Size 0P fit looser all over more like size 2P but I couldnl’t find size 00P to try on for comparison. The dress has a straighter fit so if you are curvy then you may find that you’ll need to size up but then the top portion may be too loose unless you’re bigger up top.

The mixed stripes are visually eye catching on these pants. I am usually size XSP but size XXSP fit my straighter figure well through the waist and hips.

I reviewed size XS regular here and size XXS petite here. Size XXSP was slightly too short and small on me so I had ended up returning it despite getting it for a great price. Size XSP fit me well but the back v-neck is slightly lower than I would prefer so that I could see a peek of the back of my bra strap. This dress is also available in nautical navy.

This ruffle hem pants run true to size. I like the idea of them but I don’t like how these pants look on me since many pant legs are not slim enough for my preference.

This pintucked top was another item I was excited to locate in store but in person I felt that the top was underwhelming once I tried it on. It runs one size bigger since size XXSP fit like size XSP. Perhaps if I had tried on this top with white shorts or pants I would have a different feeling about the it. The ruffle hem pants I grabbed in a rush to try on with tops that day didn’t help.

The crochet details on this tank is very pretty and it’s also available in a burgundy color. Size XXSP fit like size XSP and the overall length is longer even in the petite sizing.

The floral lace on this top is really pretty and size XXSP fit like size XSP. You may want to stick to your usual size for a looser and more comfortable fit. Size XXSP had a shorter length than I preferred but I couldn’t find size XSP to try on for comparison. The top is not lined so a layering cami is required. The lace material is white and not ivory/off white.

I wanted to love this top due to the pretty eyelet detail along the neckline and sleeves but I found the flounce sleeves stuck out too much and didn’t lay well against my arm. In the above right photo the sleeve actually folded into itself. The top is also slightly sheer so I could make out the outline of the waist of my white jeans. My usual size XSP had a shorter, slightly boxy fit.

I tried on size XXSP in this tee which fits like size XXS regular. The top has a longer overall length even in the petite sizing. I would size down for the best fit. If you like the neckline this top is also available in a solid navy color and a paisley print. I like the nautical look of the thin red and white stripes.

These chambray shorts are very soft and comfortable. They run true to size if you don’t mind them sitting lower on your hips to one size bigger if you prefer a closer fit.

This coral wash is almost sold out but this style is also available in a darker wash. They runs true to size and my usual size 24/00 regular fit me well in the waist. Since I have thinner thighs I thought the tie cuff detail sticks out too much versus laying flush against my legs like the online stock image.

I like the little flamingo on the edge of the pocket. I had originally ordered this tee in my usual size XSP but the arm holes were slightly loose as seen here so I sized down to size XXSP which fits me much better. This is a loose fitting tee so size down if you prefer a closer fit. The fabric is thinner but I didn’t find that it was too see through with a nude bra on.

This sweater is light weight which is perfect for summer and I like the white embroidered flower. My usual size XS petite was a relaxed fit. The sweater is a lighter color combined with the slightly sheer fabric which meant that the waist of my white jeans showed through as seen in this clip. I ended up passing on the sweater since I had wanted to wear it with white jeans but I don’t like the waistband of my pants showing so clearly.

This top runs larger since my usual size XSP was a bit looser. I like that the overall length is longer in the petite sizing and I would prefer this top in my usual size XXSP for a better fit. If you like this floral print it’s also available as a pencil skirt and as a dress (review here). Update 6/17: I ended up taking this top in size XXSP for a closer fit.

This eyelet white pant runs one size larger since size 24/00P fits like size 25/0P. I happened to grab and measure both size 00P and size 0P to try on and interestingly they both fit the same. The waistband hits right below my belly button. Size 00P and 0P measured as follows: 29.5″ waist, 25″ inseam. The pocket lining in the front and back shows through the fabric and you will have to wear nude panties so that it won’t show through.

This dress fits slightly larger. Size 00P fit me well since I have a smaller bust although I am usual size 0P. If you have an average sized chest then you may want to try your usual size but I am very small up top so sizing down worked for me. I love the coral color and bow tie detail on the shoulders. This sweet style reminds of a Gal Meets Glam dress. This dress can easily be dressed up or down so you can get a lot of wear out of it this summer.

This dress was absolutely stunning on Amanda of @themilleraffect. It runs one size bigger since size 00P fit like my usual size 0P. Between the lace and the lining this dress may be a bit thicker for the summer but that makes it perfect into the fall/winter.

This shade of green for this dress is very pretty but this dress has an odd fit. I found that the waist runs bigger since size 00P fit like size 0P but the top portion’s arm holes run smaller and more narrow. I would start by trying your usual size at Ann Taylor and see if you need to size down or not from there.

This white sheath dress is so chic with the subtle laser cut detail at the waist but it runs one size bigger since size 00P fit like size 0P. Unfortunately the bust darts didn’t fit my smaller chest so I had to pass on this dress. The material is thicker so it may be a bit too warm for the summer heat. The measurements of size 00P are: 32″ chest, 28″ empire waist, 34.75″ total length.

I loved the gingham version (featured here) of this top so much I had to try the white version too. My usual size XSP fit me well but the arm holes were a bit larger than I preferred so I sized down to size XXSP for a closer fit. I received size XXSP in the mail yesterday but the arm holes are still a bit looser and similar to how size XSP fit me. I really love this top alone or tucked into skirts and shorts. The white version runs wider/larger than the gingham version so you can size down for a better fit. I ended up taking the gingham version in size XSP while I took size XXSP in the white top.
I just love how the top looks tucked into the below skirt.

I love this sweater tank as a layering shell. It tucks in clean and size XXS regular fits like my usual size XSP. Note that the arm holes run more small and narrow and the top is more fitted so you may want to size up if you don’t want any lady lumps to show at the waist. The ribbed texture makes it look thicker but it’s a lighter material that’s not too thick and it will work across all seasons. Note that the overall length of this top is a petite friendly length in the regular missy sizing as seen here and here. The measurements of size XXS regular are as follows: 32″ chest, 22″ front length, 23″ back length.

I was prepared to love these shorts based on the gorgeous floral print but I didn’t like the thicker tie waist belt. The wider leg openings also didn’t flatter my legs making the shorts look baggy on me. Size 00P has a 28.5″ waist and they are 13.75″ in length so the waist of size 00P fit like size 0P.

I ordered this dress in size 0P and as much as I want to keep it for the lovely florals the bust is a bit too roomy on my smaller chest due to the apron-like fit up top as seen in this video clip. It would cost a pretty penny at my tailor to make the top portion fit my chest better. Throwing a blazer over the dress helps to hide the poor fit up top but at this point I think it’s best to return the dress. The measurements of size 0P are: 32″ chest, 27.5″ empire waist, 33″ overall length.

Last year’s Ann Taylor Gretel Metallic Leather Slides are some of my favorite comfy gold sandals. I finally ordered this season’s version to try out of curiosity. My feet are slightly wider so the criss cross straps in my usual size 7 were a bit too narrow especially across my right foot which is slightly wider than my left foot. I would need to size up to size 7 1/2 like I did last year for a more comfortable fit. Considering I already purchased a backup pair of last year’s version I’m inclined to return this pair even though I got it at a great sale price. Here is a clip comparing the soles of this year’s pair versus my backup pair from last year.
Michael Kors Alexis Espadrilles
I came across these adorable and comfy espadrilles at T.J. Maxx last weekend for $59.99. I found and linked to two pairs I located on eBay but I noticed that there are a few on Poshmark as well. I bought size 7 for now since I was using my husband’s friends and family discount for an extra 20% off but I would have preferred size 6.5 since these run bigger and wider. They remind me of the pair I got from Banana Republic last year which sadly only lasted me one season.

I love this shade of blue in these block heel sandals and they run true to size. The pair I tried on in store had a smudge on the inner hell but there wasn’t another pair to choose from so I passed on them for now. I honestly wasn’t sure how often I’d reach for a light blue pair of sandals but the 2.5″ block heel height is very walk-able. These sandals are a very comfortable fit for slightly wider feet.

I liked the gold braided details of these sandals but my feet are too wide for the soles so I had to pass on them. The length runs true to size in my usual size 7.
