Happy Sunday! It’s always a good day when LOFT upgrades their sales to include free shipping! I got this arrow print dress in the mail yesterday but I’m waiting for the other dresses I ordered to arrive later this week. I felt like I hadn’t been in to the stores to try-on items for sizing but I finally manged to stop by the mall after work on Friday since I had to pick out my items for my summer collaboration with Ann Taylor. I always thought of myself as a more of a LOFT girl but I have been finding some pieces that I really love at Ann Taylor since I partnering with Ann Taylor in the spring and now again for the summer.

I love this pleated v-neck shell with my trusy old blazer from Banana Republic. I’ll probably wear this look to work next week.

Meanwhile I can’t get enough of this white eyelet hem top!

This comfy red dress is a great 4th of July option although I’m admittedly not much of an occasion-based dresser. Here are some other choices for the upcoming holiday:
As of 6PM ET yesterday the LOFT 4th of July sale has been updated to 40% off everything + an extra 10% off and FREE shipping on all orders! Use code HBDUSA. That comes out to 46% off retail which isn’t quite 50%. Please check out my Insta Shop for some of my sales picks. The first Tuesday of the month is only a few days away so I will try to wait to place my online order so that I can save an extra 15% off as a cardmember.
Use code FRIEND835 for extra 15% off your purchase at LOFT Outlet. How cute is this floral ruffle wrap dress as seen on @loftoutlet3029?
Get 50% off your purchase at Ann Taylor. Use code SUMMERSTYLE. Sale ends 7/2 at 12AM ET. I decided I need this floral lace shirtdress now after seeing it on Jen. Shop my sales picks here:

FITTING ROOM REVIEWS
For reference I am 5′ 2.5″ and 108 pounds with minimal curves.

I ordered this dress during the recent steal of the day when it was 50% off and I was able to stack it with INSIDER442 for an extra $25 off $100+. I received this dress in the mail yesterday. Size XXSP still fits like size XSP and the arm holes are generous but my bra is now properly covered from the side view. It’s a modest length hitting just above my knee caps. If you like this arrow print it’s also available as a cami and a top here.

I love a good striped top and this one is really cute. It’s not lined but the black stripes keep it from being too see through. My usual size XSP was a relaxed fit on me. The cinched half sleeves sleeves are not too uncomfortable.

I love this palm print blouse and I tried on size XS regular for sizing. The online True Fit profile recommends this top in size XXSP for me. I do wish this top was 100% polyester but it’s made out of 100% rayon.

I love the loose oversized fit of size SP in this blouse. It was the only size left in petites but I’m sure I could also fit my usual size XSP. It is slightly sheer so a layering cami is recommended. Update 7/8: I tried on my usual size XSP yesterday which is still an oversized fit on me.

This adorable polka dot top was selling out in store so I only found size SP to try on which was too loose on me. I would need this top in my usual size XSP. If you like this style top it’s also available in other prints here. Update 7/8: I tried on my usual size XSP yesterday which is a boxy fit on me. I don’t love how this top looks on me so I have to pass despite the cute polka dots.

I wanted to like this striped dress but my usual size 0P doesn’t flatter my waist and hips due to the placement of the thick black stripe at the midsection. The skirt potion doesn’t flow away from the body to create a more flattering drape in my usual size. Size 2P which I reviewed here actually looks better but it’s too loose up top. I think this dress would look best on someone with a curvier figure and it’s also available in red.

I love this new medium wash but I do wish the ankles were more narrow to create more of a lengthening effect. These jeans run true to size and I like the minimal distressing.

I usually shy away from dress pants but these caught my eye due to the cute tie waist detail. I am curious about the white color even though the first online reviewer mentioned that these are see through. Did she mean the pocket lining shows or the material is too sheet even with nude underwear on? The black color is not see through but they are a big baggy through my thighs since I have thin legs. Size 24/00P fits more like size 25/0P at LOFT. Update 7/18: Please refer to my review of the white color here.

These wide leg pants are very comfy and cute and I wish the petite sizes also offered them in white. Size XXSP fits like size XSP.

I ordered the dress for $80 on sale when my size popped back online last week. Jean had featured it on her blog and Instagram and the dress sold out rather quickly before I could order it earlier this season. The measurements for XXSP are as follows:
13″ shoulders
7.25″ armholes (note: I did not double this measurement)
32″ bust (measured pit to pit
33″ at the unfitted waist
33″ total length
Sadly the arm holes and upper portion of the dress are too narrow for me to take the dress on and off comfortably. I had to bend over and carefully extract myself from the dress by pulling it over my head. I was surprised that there is no zipper on the sides or a keyhole in the back to create more room to ease in and out of the dress. I begrudgingly returned the dress due to the odd fit. The v-neck is low but not low enough to expose my bra.

I love this little black dress and it runs one size bigger. Size 00P fits like size 0P. The bow straps are flat and sewn in place so I can easily pair a blazer over it such as this seersucker blazer (review here, last seen here). The dress is not lined but it just skims my body so I don’t have to worry about panty lines. If you size down for a closer fit then you will have to wear shapewear. This dress is the perfect lightweight little black dress for the summer. It’s also 100% polyester which means it should be very easy to care for.

I loved the fit and movement of this dress and it has two side slits. Size 00P fits like size 0P. If you love this style it’s also available in a pretty light yellow color here. I know the dress looks long on me so the measurements of size 00P are as follows: 32″ bust (measured pit to pit), 28″ at the pleated empire waist, 44″ total length.

This dress is another pretty floral option and I like the bow detail in the back. Size 0P fits true to size. The dress is lined so it’s not see through. Note that the outer fabric is 110% rayon while the inner lining is 100% polyester.

I was skeptical about this dress but I liked the color against my skintone. It looks great paired with this seersucker blazer (review here, last seen here). Size 00P fits like a close fitting size 0P at Ann Taylor so I have to be mindful of wearing seamless underwear with it. The material is thicker so it may be too hot if you live in warmer climates.

I love the pretty floral print of this top and I took my usual size XSP. If you like this style it’s also available in two solid colors here.

I really wanted this sweater shell to work in the white color but I prefer the black color since the white color shows the waistband of my white jeans. My usual size XSP was slightly more snug in the stomach area so size SP fit me well for a looser but still flattering fit.

I was curious about this new top but I didn’t love the fit on me. I prefer the dress which I reviewed up top to this top. Size XXSP fits more like size XSP for a relaxed fit.

I ordered these white sandals out of curiosity but I ended up returning them since they’re a bit looser than I prefer and the strap is wider than I would like. I would prefer something with a bit more polish so I will keep looking for the perfect white summer sandals. The length of the shoe runs true to size.

Lilly reviewed these adorable new stitched skinny crop jeans in white (item no. 475367)) last week and I can’t wait until they’re available for purchase online! Update 7/7: I noticed that these jeans are now avaialble for purchase online. I’m disappointed that these jeans do not come in petites since I tried on size 24/00 regular today and they fit just like their modern fit jeans which never flatter my skinny chicken legs.
Last week I mentioned that I was dealing with some mosquito bites. I tried using lavender essential oil as recommended by one of my kind followers and I’m happy to report that it helps with the itch. My spots were also less red when I woke up the next morning. She recommended using the essential oils from doTERRA but I was desperate so the one I found and tried is this one from CVS.
I updated my Amazon shop with some new beauty products and bubble tea items I bought.
I also made some non-LOFT and non-Ann Taylor online purchases yesterday. I’m curious if any of these will work out since I’m unfamiliar with these retailer’s sizing so I’ll share an update when I receive them.
Happy Shopping!
