Ann Taylor Cozy Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater, size XXS regular

We’re halfway through the week and I’m back again with more reviews! I got these Hunter boots in matte black since I like my glossy tawny pair a lot (review here). Hunters come in a lot of pretty colors but I prefer neutral colors since they’re easy to mix and match with all of my outfits.

These boots run true to size and they fit narrow across the tops of your feet if you have slightly wider feet like me. I needed the refined slim fit instead of the original tall boots since I have 12.5″ calves. There’s still a noticeable gap since the inner upper circumference is 14.25″ and when I walk it makes a sound due to the extra space around my calves. The boot shaft is 14.25″ tall in the back so they hit under my knees. I thought the back straps added some interest but the regular refined slim fit style with the strap/buckle on the side is also a great option. I got my pair for $98 (50% off) through Hunter‘s direct website and sizes do randomly pop back.

BAG REVIEWS

Ann Taylor Cozy Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater, size XXS regular

Ainifeel Padlock Leather Mini Crossbody Bag | J.Crew Factory Zoe suede d’Orsay flats (true to size, review here) | Click here, here and here to view the video clips of my review

The 22cm mini bag measurements are as follows: 2.5″ width, 5.25″ height, 7.5″ top length, 8.5″ bottom length, and 44″ max strap length (approximately 22″ drop length). The bag has silver tone hardware and I found the one I received to be newly packaged and well made. It came with a free twilly(note that the one you receive may be different) as seen here but no lock and key so I was confused by the description in the listing. The stock images don’t show a lock and key either. There is one inside pocket against one side for your credit cards as seen here. The bag also has metal feet to protect it from scratches when you set it down.

I was curious about this boxy satchel style bag which is the 28cm size. The bag measurements I took are as follows: 4″ width, 8″ height, 9.5″ top length and 11.5″ bottom length. The bag has gold tone hardware and I found the one I received to be newly packaged and well made. It came with a free twilly that I didn’t like and a working key and lock. There are two inside pockets against one side and one larger zipper pocket on the other side as seen here. The bag also has metal feet to protect it from scratches. I’m only 5’2.5″ so this bag looks best on the crook of my arms or hand carried. I thought it looked too big and awkward when worn at the hips with the removable crossbody strap as seen here. I would probably need the 25cm size for the best proportions. For now I got the mini crossbody (8.5″ or 22cm) at the top of this post.

Ainifeel Top Handle Handbag in dark taupe

The 23cm bag is a bucket style tote with four feet on the bottom. The one I received was newly packaged and it came with a free twilly, working lock and key as well as a removable insert as seen here and here. I noticed that the short pull-through strap has a noticeable double stitching on the top side which stands out against the dark taupe color due to the white thread. I also noticed some white residue that didn’t wipe off as seen here. The white residue is likely from moist storage and perhaps it would go away with some leather conditioner. It’s a cute style with a lot of color options. I could see myself using it in the spring and summer if I decide to reorder it in another color and/or for another one with no defects. The bag felt larger width-wise than I pictured in my mind and it measured close to the dimensions provided on the listing at 9″ length, 9″ height and 7.5″ width. I’m also considering the mini size here but it ships from Korea so I’d have to pay for shipping.

For sizing comparison see my usual size XSP on me here and here. I chose size XXS regular for the slightly longer sleeve length and overall length (24″). The material is so soft and the loose mock neck is really comfortable.

Ann Taylor Mixed Stripe Sweater, size XXS regular

This nautical sweater was on my wish list the moment I spotted it online but my usual size XXS regular is a bit too close fitting at the waist and hips. I need to try it in size XS regular for comparison but I worry that the sleeves might be too wide.

Ann Taylor Scallop Neck Tipped Sweater, size XS regular

Ann Taylor Scallop Neck Tipped Sweater, size XS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I usually love all the speckled tops and sweaters but I didn’t love this sweater on me. Size XS regular is a relaxed fit on me (the bust measured 34″ measured pit to pit) and it fits like how I would usually prefer size XS petite to fit me so it has a shorter length at 22.5″. It’s a thinner material and it doesn’t contain any wool which is a plus. The sleeve length was good and measured 23.75″.

I thought that this turtleneck was fussy at first since it’s larger but once you adjust the way it drapes it looks really cute. Note that the sweater contains wool so it may be scratchy for some. My usual size XXS regular fit me well for a relaxed fit. It’s a thinner material so it’s not too thick and it’s not stuffy layered under a coat.

Ann Taylor Bauble Trim Tee, size XXS regular

Ann Taylor Bauble Trim Tee, size XXS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I had high hopes on this tee since I love the tee on the sleeves and along the hem but size XXS regular was too long and loose all over. I wish the tee was offered in petites since the regular missy size didn’t work out for me. The material isn’t too sheer and it isn’t see through with a nude bra on.

Ann Taylor Winter Animal V-Neck Flutter Tee, size XXS regular

Ann Taylor Winter Animal V-Neck Flutter Tee, size XXS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

The top is just a bit loose on me up top in my usual size XXS regular so the v-neck neckline moves around as seen here when I tried wearing it under a cardigan. I like the mini animal print fabric but it just isn’t a flattering style on me.

BB Dakota Women's Easy Rider Faux Suede Jacket in green moss, size XS

BB Dakota Women’s Easy Rider Faux Suede Jacket in green moss, size XS | Click here and here to view more clips from my try-on

The material is 100% polyurathan on the outside (and 100% polyester lining) which doesn’t look faux suede as seen here. It actually looks and feels like a coated faux leather. Size XS runs small for a petite friendly fit and measures as follows: 32″ bust (measured pit to pit), 14.5″ shoulders, 22.5″ sleeve length, 11″ upper arm circumference, 32″ along the bottom hem and 22″ total length. I would probably need to go up to size S for the best fit but I don’t love the feel of the material although the green moss color is a nice neutral color.

BB Dakota Women's Five Starts for You Blouse, size S

BB Dakota Women’s Five Starts for You Blouse, size S | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I ordered this blouse the other day when size S was $25.70 compared to the other sizes which are full price. I hoped that size S would fit me but it was too boxy and loose on me. Size S measurements are as follows: 18″ bust (measured pit to pit), 41″ along the bottom hem, 13.5″ shoulders, 24.5″ sleeve length, 12.5″ upper arm circumference and 24″ total length.

Click here for the side view and click here and here for more close ups. I love the bow and cutout on the side of these pumps. I ordered size 7.5 to try since one of the reviewers mentioned that they ran a half size smaller but they probably run true to size since size 7.5 kept slipping off my heel. I’ll order my usual size if it pops back in the colors I want to try on Amazon. I could also order directly via Marc Fisher’s site here since they offer free shipping and returns but I prefer buying on Amazon since I’m familiar with their return process if things don’t work out. Update 1/22: I ended up ordering the brown pair directly via the manufacturer’s website since they’re $42.72 after 20% off with the code WRAPUP. They ship for free but they charge $6.95 for the return label which is why I only ordered one pair for now.

OLD NAVY REVIEW

Old Navy Boyfriend Denim Jacket, size XSP

Old Navy Boyfriend Denim Jacket in medium wash, size XSP | Click here and here to view the clips from my try-on

I was curious about this denim jacket since it looked really classic on the model in the online stock image. Unfortunately I don’t like the fit on me since the shorter 19″ sleeves in petites looks awkward on my longer arms as seen here. I also tried double cuffing the sleeves they way they did in the photos but it made them hit closer to the crook of my elbows which wasn’t comfortable. I wanted to cuff the sleeves just once but it doesn’t stay folded. Size XSP is a boxy, loose fit on me and the measurements are as follows: 16.5″ shoulders, 19″ sleeve length, 6.5″ upper arm circumference, 18.5″ chest (measured pit to pit), 18.5″ along the bottom hem, 22″ total length.

I ordered a few more spring items from Old Navy but they won’t arrive until early next week.

Thanks for stopping by!

I love the striped sweater, bauble trim tee and the gray turtleneck sweater on you! They're so cute. I may have to order the turtleneck sweater in February. I love that it's thin enough to layer under coats without feeling stuffy. The Style Intermission

Thanks Young! The fit/sizing has been quite a struggle for me lately but it's good for my wallet that these things don't work out. lol

Have you tried the Hunter Tour Packable Waterproof Rain Boot? It’s petite friendly and calf runs narrower but not narrow across the foot. I have slightly wide feet and I’m 5 feet and fits really well.

Thank you for recommending that style! I haven't tried it myself but I really should order the Tour packable style to try on for comparison. My SIL has the short classic style boots and I tried them on and they had more room around the tops of the feet but I felt that the silhouette of the classic style wasn't as sleek as the refined style's boot shape. Meanwhile I am committed to the Refined style since I already wore my pair out a few times.

Love your Hunter boots, they look so cute on you! I’d like to get a pair of those myself and intend to wear them to everyday outfits as I hate changing shoes. What are your experiences with them concerning comfort and climate inside? Would you recommend to wear them to work or to other events?

Thanks Anna! I find that they look very casual so if your workplace is business casual it may still work. I keep and also bring shoes to work if I want to wear something else once I get to the office. I haven't had any discomfort wearing them inside but then again my office tends to be on the chillier side or maybe I'm always cold.
