Happy Friday and Summer Solstice! Dress and romper season are in full swing and I wore these two ouftits last weekend when we went down to celebrate Father’s Day with my husband’s family. This teardrop swing chair (similar here) is so fun and it’s located inside an office building in Jersey City.

FITTING ROOM REVIEWS

For size reference I’m 5′ 2.5″ and I’m currently 112-113 pounds. I’m usually size XS petite in tops and 0/25 petite in pants and jeans. If you’re new to my blog I typically share the link to a short video clip below each image (the same video clips I share in my Instagram stories swipe ups during sales). My Pinterest is also update to date if you prefer a more visual catalog of my reviews. You can also check out my other reviews organized by retailer here.

LOFT Striped Double V Romper, size 2PLOFT Striped Double V Romper, size 2P | Click here and here to view the clips from my try-on

I really wanted this romper after I tried it on in store so I took size 2P since my usual size 0P was not available. It was roomy all over on me but I had read that the romper would shrink after you wash it. I already washed mine on cold and line dried it. I also steamed it thoroughly after it was dry hoping that it would relax the fibers in the material but it only gained back a quarter of an inch in the length and width. When the romper was new size 2P was 30.5″ total length and 15.5″ across the waist (where the ribbon sash is). After washing and line drying the romper was 29″ total length and 15″ across the waist. After I steamed it out the romper became 29.25″ total length and 15.25″ across the waist. It fits me better after it shrank as seen here but I have yet to wear and wash it again since last weekend. The romper is unlined so skin tone undergarments are a must.

LOFT Striped Button Down Flare Dress, size 2PLOFT Striped Button Down Flare Dress, size 2P | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I previously reviewed the chambray version here and the striped version here. LOFT Outlet also carries the same/similar dress in white here. Size 2P was too loose on me so I believe I would need this dress in my usual size 0P for the best fit. The dress isn’t lined but it’s not too sheer as long as you wear skin tone undergarments and/or a skirt slip. You can see the pocket lining through the material as seen here which I know can bother some people.

LOFT Drawstring Utility Jacket, size XXSPLOFT Drawstring Utility Jacket, size XXSP (review of size XSP here) | Click here to view a clip of the outfit on me

I bought this light jacket in my usual size XSP but it’s a relaxed fit on me as I mentioned in my previous post. I found and tried on size XXSP which is a better fit on me and I’m stuck with the size I got.

LOFT Floral Cutout Back Dress, size 2PLOFT Floral Cutout Back Dress, size 2P | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I like this floral print and I previously tried on size 0 petite here and size 0 regular here. Size 2P fit me well but the top portion is too loose on my smaller chest (I’m size 34AA in petite bras). This adorable dress was featured on LOFT‘s instagram feed recently.

LOFT Mosaic Tiered Maxi Dress, size XSPLOFT Mosaic Tiered Maxi Dress, size XSP |   LOFT Criss Cross Slingback Sandals (true to size, review here and here) | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I tried on this blue and white maxi dress in my usual size XS petite but petite sizes either sold out very quickly online or it’s not yet available online. It’s not unusual for regular missy sizes comes out first before petites. The dress is fully lined so it is not see through. The dress is a longer length so if you’re shorter than me (I’m 5′ 2.5″) then you would need to wear higher heels to prevent the hem from dragging on the floor. You can wear it belted as shown above or unbelted as seen here.

LOFT Distressed Denim Jacket, size XSPLOFT Distressed Denim Jacket, size XSP | Click here to  view the clip from my try-on

I love a good white denim jacket and this one runs true to size for a cropped length. The material isn’t too stiff so it’s a comfortable fit.

LOFT Eyelet Back Keyhole Flutter Shell, size XXSPLOFT Eyelet Back Keyhole Flutter Shell, size XXSP | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

This eyelet top is fully lined and it has a wider, boxy fit so size XXSP fits like my usual size XSP. There’s a cute cutout in the back as seen here.

LOFT Dot Buttoned Petal Sleeve Top, size XSPLOFT Dot Buttoned Petal Sleeve Top, size XSP | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

This polka dot top is a new arrival not yet available online. It fits the same as the bouquet buttoned petal sleeve top I reviewed and featured here. The material is thin so I can see the outline of my bra which is a deal breaker for me.

This top runs true to size. The bust darts don’t fit my smaller chest well so I’m passing on this top. It’s not too sheer for an off white blouse and it’s also available in a floral print.

Ann Taylor Square Neck Top, size XSPAnn Taylor Square Neck Top, size XSP | Similar round rattan bag here | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

This square neck top is really cute and it’s fully lined so it’s not too sheer. I took my usual size XSP which is a shorter length but it still tucks in to skirts pretty well as shown below. If you like style top it’s also available in polka dots here with matching shorts as seen on Emily @ems_ensemble_.

Great style as always, Jess! That romper is super cute on you. For me, the Lemon print halter romper you previously reviewed actually worked really well. I usually avoid rompers because the shorts inseam is often shorter than I would like (have they ever considered a 5″ or 6″ shorts inseam on these things?), plus going to the bathroom quickly isn’t possible LOL, but it was so flattering on that I finally scooped it up today. Only problem? It’s RAYON! I hope it doesn’t shrink in the wash, but it probably will. Thanks to the automatic 10% card member discount, one cash card and 40% off, I paid around $23 for it thanks to the in store pick up option (I also grabbed the tie waist gingham shorts in that order, which ended up being about $11).

Just wanted to gripe a bit about the cash cards. It’s a bummer they reduced them to $20 instead of $25. I also learned today that if placing an online order via phone, they will only allow 3 cash cards to be used (it used to be 9 over the phone), and as usual, they will not combine with the sitewide sale. I do place a lot of small in store pick up orders to get as many discounts as possible, but LOFT is crafty with their pricing ending in $0.50 for most full price items – so often I’m short by a dollar or two and end up having to get socks. Still, few popular brands have sales as often as they do!

Thank you @leesooim! I’m glad to hear that the lemon print romper worked out for you! I hope it washes well but if it shrinks please try the trick to steam it after it’s dry from line drying. Steaming 100% rayon can help to gain back the length/fit since it relaxes the fibers in the material. That’s an amazing price for both items!

I too was not happy to see that they reduced the cash cards to $20 this year and I had read the fine print that they woulddn’t combine with the sitewide sale. However, I noticed that my local LOFT store shared (via Instagram stories) that they would combine the LOFT cash with the storewide sale so I was going to try to shop in stores. I have definitely ended up with a lot of socks in the past due to their clever pricing.
