Happy Friday! Last weekend my husband and I went to check out the newly opened Encore Boston Harbor Casino which is across the river from where we live. (As I’m typing this post I can see and hear the casino’s fireworks tonight from our kitchen window.) The inside of the casino was very opulent and the crowd favorite was this floral adorned carousel in the center of the lobby. We didn’t stay long but my curiosity was satisfied and we walked back home (thank goodness I wore sneakers) since we took the free shuttle bus there but we weren’t sure of the pickup schedule.
I changed into the below dress for some more walking around the city since the first outfit became sweaty from walking under the hot afternoon sun. My poor nose is still peeling from not wearing a hat and despite wearing SPF 50+ (linked to a full coverage CC cream that I love).

FITTING ROOM REVIEWS
For size reference I’m 5′ 2.5″ and I’m currently 112-113 pounds. I’m usually size XS petite in tops and 0/25 petite in pants and jeans. If you’re new to my blog I typically share the link to a short video clip below each image (the same video clips I share in my Instagram stories swipe ups during sales). My Pinterest is also up to date if you prefer a more visual catalog of my reviews. You can also check out my other reviews organized by retailer here.
This leopard print dress is really cute. I tried on size XS regular which was a petite friendly length. It was a bit loose on my so I would prefer my usual size XXS regular for a better fit but it’s sold out so I may try size XS petite. The dress is fully lined and the belt sash is shorter so you can only knot it in the front. It’s a lovely dress that will transition well into the fall and cooler temperatures.

Click here to see what the blouse looks like when it’s not tucked in. Size XXSP fit like my usual size XSP. I like the eyelet fabric but I’m not sure if I love the sleeves.
I was so excited for this new pintucked top but it doesn’t fit like another old favorite top from 2017.
Thanks to Shilpa @mangobungalow for sharing that this top did not work out for her in her usual size due to the puffy sleeves and boxy fit. I couldn’t find it in petites in my local store so I tried on size XS regular and I agree with her thoughts on the fit of this top. I hope I can find it in petites to try on for comparison and I might cave and order it online.
These shorts are very soft and a classic fit with and a nice 4″ inseam. They also come in many colors and I want the milky tan color I tried on and the and the white color. My usual size 24/00 regular has a 29″ waistband. The Riviera shorts are available in a 6″ inseam and there’s also a high waisted version (only available in black).
This striped tee is soft and it has a cute flowy fit. Size XXSP fit like my usual size XSP. I have it on hold since the day I tried it on it was not on sale. It’s also available in solid black here.
This new striped ruffle henley top is available in navy and white stripes and my usual size XSP fit me well. I reviewed the previous black and white version here. I did notice a gap from the side where the button placket is. Shop all ruffle henley tops here.
These white shorts have a nice stretch to them but the pocket lining is see through. Size 24/00 regular has a 30″ waistband.
This adorable polka dot dress was $16.99 at T.J. Maxx. I wish it came in size XS since size S is loose on me. I wore it to work the other day and realized I don’t love the fit on me so I’ll list it on Poshmark soon after I wash it. It’s 100% polyester and fully lined for the skirt portion. Only the top 3 buttons are function so it’s easy to take on and off.
I got a new wooden bench to use in the bathroom for when I’m getting ready since I don’t have a dedicated vanity. It’s a sturdy piece and it was easy to assemble since I didn’t read any instructions and I only watched the video in the listing. It took 8 minutes to put it together on my own.
REQUEST FOR HELP
My longtime friend’s good friend is going to Hult International Business School this September and she’s been searching for affordable housing in the San Francisco area for over a year. I offered to help spread the word since I noticed I have a lot of readers based in California. Her budget is a maximum of $1500/month. If you know of anyone who can help her out please message her at email@example.com. We appreciate your help!
Thanks for stopping by!
