Happy Friday! I’m back with some new reviews this week but a few of my various orders are still in transit.

For size reference I’m 5′ 2.5″ and currently 108 pounds. I’m usually size XS petite in tops and 0/25 petite in pants and jeans. I typically share the link to a short video clip below each image (the same video clips that I share in my Instagram stories swipe ups). My Pinterest is also up to date if you prefer a more visual catalog of my reviews. You can also check out my other reviews organized by retailer here.

The above fringe sweater runs true to size and it is a true white. It’s 100% cotton and when I saw it on the tables over the weekend I didn’t like it but it looks better on. It is more fitted through the waist and hips which is my main reservation with keeping it since I prefer a more relaxed fit for my tops.

I went with my usual size XXS regular for some extra length for this dotted layering top. It has a hi-lo shirttail hem that’s very flattering.

LOFT Cropped Tee, size XXS regularLOFT Cropped Tee, size XXS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I was curious about this boxy tee when I spotted it online. I ordered this one (available in three colors) and the v-neck version (pictured below) to try in my usual size and I like the cropped length for effortless front tucks for petites without the awkward bunching on the sides. Note that the v-neck tee below is more cream/off white in person. The black color is their usual thin vintage soft tee 100% cotton material and measures 19″ total length, 39″ chest and 39″ along the bottom hem with a 1.25″ split hem. The v-neck tee looks more like a stretch knit with 70% rayon, 27% polyester and 3% spandex and it measures 19.5″ total length, 37″ chest and 36″ with a 1.5″ split hem.

LOFT Floral Button Tie Waist Dress, size 0PLOFT Floral Button Tie Waist Dress, size 0P | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I was excited to try this dress but my usual size is shapeless on me and even the belt doesn’t really help. The buttons at the sleeves are a bit difficult to unfasten since the sleeve length is short on me. 34″ chest, 22″ sleeve length, 13″ upper arm circumference, 35″ waist, 41″ along the bottom hem and 33.5″ total length.

LOFT Funnel Neck Sweatshirt, size XSPLOFT Funnel Neck Sweatshirt, size XSP | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I previously reviewed the flecked version here in size XS regular. The safari gold color is a pretty marigold color for fall and my usual size XS petite fit me well. I wish the flecked version came in petites but it doesn’t at this time. In my impatience I had also found size XS regular to try on below at my local store.

LOFT Plaid Blanket ScarfLOFT Plaid Blanket Scarf

This plaid blanket scarf looks really cute but it’s very thick so you need to be careful how you fold and wear it around your neck or else it can feel like a neck brace. This checked blanket scarf is another great option for the fall and winter.

LOFT Bobble Stitch Sweater, size XS regularLOFT Bobble Stitch Sweater, size XS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I reviewed this sweater in the cream and black version last year here. This new camel colorway is a much cuter option in my opinion and size XS regular fit me well.

LOFT Hooded Open Cardigan, size XS regularLOFT Hooded Open Cardigan, size XS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

This hooded cardigan is so cute and the sleeves of size XS regular are very long so I plan on ordering it in petites to try. The sleeves aren’t too snug so you can layer a long sleeve top under it comfortably.

LOFT Marled Ribbed Tunic Top, size XXSPLOFT Marled Ribbed Tunic Top, size XXSP | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I previously reviewed this top in my usual size XSP here however after taking another look at the video clip I realized that sizing down would be best. Size XXSP is still a loose and relaxed fit on me.

I ordered these cozy denim leggins in indigo in my usual size 25/0P and they fit about one size smaller. Size 25/0P has a 26″ waist, 10″ rise and 26″ inseam but the 8″ ankle opening was very narrow I couldn’t get them on past my heels. The pair I received new in the package didn’t smell bad and the color is a dark blue as seen here.

I also ordered these bow mules to try but the soles are narrow and the length is a half a size too short as seen here and here. They’re not well made since you can clearly see the beige lining of the shoe as seen here.

J.Crew Factory Boiled Wool Topcoat, size 00J.Crew Factory Boiled Wool Topcoat in camel, size 00 | Ann Taylor Chain Link Mock Neck Top, size XXS regular (old/sold out, similar striped version here)  | Click here and here to view the clips from my try-on

My friend Ly shared the J.Crew Factory version of the topcoat after I reviewed the J.Crew version here. The sleeves fit me better but I don’t like the three button style and I also wasn’t a fan of the exposed seams. The factory version isn’t itchy to me unlike J.Crew version  since the material is 58% polyester, 36% wool and 6% other fibers. The measurements of size 00 are as follows: 16″ shoulders, 23″ sleeve length, 12″ upper arm circumference, 37″ chest, 38″ waist, 40″ hips, 43″ along the bottom hem and 34.5″ total length.

Franco Sarto Women's Grenoble LoaferFranco Sarto Women’s Grenoble Loafer | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I spotted this loafers on Franco Sarto’s Instagram feed here and I had to order them to try. The nude patent color is a pretty powder pink in person. My usual size 7 is a bit loose in the back of the heel but my feet swell when I walk so I’m not sure that I would size down. To be honest they’re not my usual style so I’m debating on whether or not I should keep them if I can figure out a way to style them with a few outfits. They are a great fit for slightly wider feet but I wouldn’t recommend these loafers if you have narrow feet. They have a almost 1.75″ block heel.

Funny how we were just wondering when the chateau parka would make an appearance this year, and here it is, haha. Is it just me, or does it look a lot different somehow compared to previous years, almost like it’s more plain? I also feel like the way they photographed the models on the website makes the coat look incredibly unflattering on ALL of the models.

It definitely appears to have more black in the faux fur trim on at least half of the colors they’re offering, also. I’m honestly happy the trim so far has been swappable from previous years – I purchased the coat last year in grey, and while I didn’t care for the trim against the grey, I swapped it with the trim from my black one, which is lighter in color and a lot fluffier, and I actually preferred the darker brown from last year against the black.

I had to look again but the surface details look similar to the two that I have from past years. The online models are not my favorite but the black color of the Chateau Parka looks nice on that model. That’s a good observation and I agree. It’s very clever to switch the faux fur trim from past seasons. I still need to dry clean some of my coats so that I can wear them now that it’s getting chilly.

So i ordered the chateau parka just to try in the gold color. This year’s version fits me the same as my other 2 parkas in the size I usually buy, and the material feels the same to me as well. However, the fur trim this year has been scaled back. It’s less plush and narrower than previous years. It’s also no longer swappable, since, for example, last year’s trim is one snap too long (about an inch and a half longer maybe). It’s also about half an inch narrower. This may be welcome news for some, since I know from past reviews some ladies found the fur trim to be overwhelming. Just thought I would share!

I also tried the new petite lady day coat in dark amber. All I can say is WOW. I have never owned any other version of the lady day coat, so I have no comparison, but the fit and tailoring of this coat is so spot on! The material is interesting, but not scratchy – it has almost a pebbled texture to it. I tried it on over a bulky GAP vintage soft sweatshirt dress, which is pretty thick, and it was still very comfortable. It has such an elegant, polished silhouette. I wish I hadn’t tried it, because now I’m tempted to keep it haha.

Thank you for sharing that this year’s Chateau parka has a different length faux fur trim! Your feedback is always so helpful! My grey Chateau parka has seen better days so I’m contemplating replacing it since the lining is starting to fray since I got mine in 2014.

I got the new Lady Day coat too and in 2P. I found that even with sizing up the fit is on the snug side but I worry that it would be too big if I size up for comfort. The petite sleeves are bracelet length on me. I love the material they used and it makes the jacket look expensive and chic. If you got it for the same sale price I did (with the extra 20% off) then it was a decent deal!

Hi Jess, I love this parka on you! I’ve noticed you usually buy regular sizes in J.Crew, are their petite sizes too short? Also, do you know what size you wear in the J.Crew velvet blazer? Like you, I wear different sizes in AT and Loft. But, usually I’m Op or xsp in their blazers and jackets. I’m 1/4″ taller than you and my shoulders are slightly wider, but we seem to wear the same size most of the time. Thank you for all of the reviews you do, it really helps to see the clothing on you vs. the model and knowing how it fits you really helps.

Hi Debbie! I’m sorry that I missed your comment until just now. It’s been a crazy month for me. I haven’t tried the velvet blazer but I’ll have to look out for it to try on. I’m happy to hear that you can use me as a size reference despite being a little taller. 🙂
