I placed a huge Ann Taylor order this past Tuesday to take advantage of the additional 15% off for ALL Rewards credit cardmembers in the first Tuesday of every month (the works on top of all promotions). I had to call Customer Service for a price adjustment since they never fixed their website to automatically apply the discount that day.  Ann Taylor has a current Friends of Ann Event for 40% off + an extra 10% off (this comes out to 46% off if you do the math) so the better promo code is THANKS1 for 50% off full-price styles. This latter code excludes suiting, cashmere and third-party merchandise. Refer to all of my Ann Taylor reviews here.

SIZE REFERENCE

For size reference I’m 5′ 2.5″ and currently 109 pounds. I’m usually size XS petite in tops and 0/25 petite in pants and jeans. I typically share the link to a short video clip below each image (the same video clips that I share in my Instagram stories swipe ups). My Pinterest is also up to date if you prefer a more visual catalog of my reviews. You can also check out my other reviews organized by retailer here.

I love the drape and fit of the above dress and it’s a beautiful jewel tone for the holidays. The twist detail at the mock neck adds interest for a demure style with understated elegance. My usual size 0P feels a bit more narrow through the shoulders and chest so if you have a larger chest then you may want to try a size up.

Ann Taylor Floral Pleated Flare Dress, size 00PAnn Taylor Floral Pleated Flare Dress, size 00P (also available in black clip dot) | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I previously reviewed a similar style pleated flare dress in size 0P here so I ordered size 00P in this new floral print to try. I’m glad I sized down since size 00P fits me well at the waist. Note that I have a smaller chest (I take size 32A or 34AA in petite bras) but size 00P always fits more narrow through the chest which sometimes works to my benefit if I prefer a closer fit. If you like this floral print it’s also available as a blouse.

Ann Taylor Sylvan Suede Mary Jane FlatsAnn Taylor Sylvan Suede Mary Jane Flats in alley grey (true to size) | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

These flats felt a bit stiff in the back  so they may require some softening up using the heel of your palm. The pearl button is a beautiful detail and I wish these flats were also offered in a light neutral color that is easier to match. Ann Taylor shoes typically run true to size for me but I’ve seen others that would recommend going down 1/2 a size.

Ann Taylor Belted Trench Coat, size XSPAnn Taylor Belted Trench Coat, size XSP (similar here) | Ann Taylor Brielle Suede Block Heel Slingback Pumps (review here) | Click here, here and here to view the clips from my try-on

The teal quarry  color is a beautiful dark evergreen in person. This coat is an oversized fit on me so I’m curious if size XXSP would be a better fit. There is a lot of excess material when belted as seen here but if you do not fasten the two snap buttons then you can overlap more of the coat as seen here to prevent the material from bunch as much at the waist. The measurements of size XSP are: 14″ shoulders, 12″ upper arm circumference, 36″ chest, 37″ waist, 23″ sleeve length and 41″ total length.

Note that I have the Brielle slingback pumps in two colors (brown and black) and my usual size 7 as well as size 7.5 both fit me without the back strap slipping at the ankles.

Ann Taylor Blackwatch Plaid Fluted Sleeve Top, size XXS regularAnn Taylor Blackwatch Plaid Fluted Sleeve Top, size XXS regular (also available in a textured black houndstooth here) | Exact jeans are old favorites from 4 years ago | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

Blackwatch plaid is back for the holiday season and I was deciding between two of the new arrivals so I ordered this fluted sleeve top (above) and the layered blouse (below) to compare. If you prefer a more fitted look the fluted sleeve top may be a better choice while the layered blouse has a more casual look due to the relaxed fit. I was really torn about which top to keep but I only kept the fluted sleeve top.

Ann Taylor Boucle Lace Trim Puff Sleeve Top, size XSPAnn Taylor Boucle Lace Trim Puff Sleeve Top, size XSP | Click here and here to view the clips from my try-on

I really love the look of this boucle top but the metallic threads make the material feel more scratchy against your skin. The puff sleeve detail and lace trim on the half sleeves add just the right amount of polish and it also has a matching pencil skirt but interestingly enough I didn’t see them style the two separate pieces together. My usual size XSP is a relaxed fit.

Ann Taylor Pearlized Button Boyfriend Cardigan, size XSPAnn Taylor Pearlized Button Boyfriend Cardigan, size XSP | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

This off white cardigan is very elegant with the large faux pearl buttons and it also comes in navy. My usual size is a relaxed fit for comfortable layering. If you prefer a more fitted look then you may want to size down.

Lace Trim Henley Shell, size XSPAnn Taylor Lace Trim Henley Shell, size XSP | Click here and here to view the clips from my try-on

This lace trim shell has been on my wish list since I saw it in the Preview section a few weeks ago. It’s also available in black. My usual size XSP is loose fitting on me but I’m not sure that I would size down. The material for the top isn’t too sheer in the winter white color so I can’t clearly see the outline of my bra or the waistband of my pants.

Ann Taylor Ruffle Puff Sleeve Top, size XSPAnn Taylor Ruffle Puff Sleeve Top, size XSP (similar here) | Click here and here to view the clips from my try-on

This soft pink top is more fitted in my usual size XSP so I called Customer Service to exchange it for the next size up. This feminine top is also available in a shimmer fabric here. I like the modest v-neck and the little gathered ruffles on the shoulder seams. Update: Size SP was too loose at the chest on me to be flattering but it was a relaxed fit through the body.

Ann Taylor Crepe Chiffon Sleeve Top, size XXS regularAnn Taylor Crepe Chiffon Sleeve Top, size XXS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I was excited about this top and I ordered it in both black and the delicate ecru color which is a light/pale pink in person. For some reason the sleeves look puffier in black but the sleeves look more flattering in the delicate ecru color. If you prefer full-length sleeves this sheer sleeve mock neck blouse from the Preview section looks promising. The top is a relaxed fit but the length is a touch longer than I prefer which is better seen in this clip and it’s not available in petites.

Ann Taylor Cozy Mock Neck Sweater, size XSPAnn Taylor Cozy Mock Neck Sweater, size XSP | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

This mock neck sweater is another new arrival I was excited to see. My usual size XSP is a very loose fit through the body so I want to try on size XXSP for comparison. I called Customer Service to do a quick exchange it for the tanned khaki color in size XSP as well as a few other items in my order. Note that a quick exchange (either over the phone or in stores) allows you to reorder a different color or size while honoring the sale price you paid and Customer Service also waives the shipping fee. The sweater I received had two pulls in the material as seen here so it was defective. Update 11/17: I ended up getting this sweater in size XXSP for a closer fit.

Ann Taylor Geo Pleated Full Skirt, size 00PAnn Taylor Geo Pleated Full Skirt, size 00P | Click here to view the clip from my try-on

I like the asymmetrical hem on this skirt and there’s a matching blouse you could pair it with to make it look like you’re wearing a dress. I loved how they styled it with the mock neck sweater so I was trying to replicate the look but the length of my usual size in petites makes for an awkward half tuck. Size 00P sits higher at the waist on me but I’m afraid my usual size 0P may be too loose. The skirt is lined and not too sheer but because it is lined it can be prone to static cling especially with the dry winter heat indoors. I usually carry a Bounce sheet in a ziploc bag in my purse but I would welcome other solutions to deal with static cling.

I also ordered this floral twist neck blouse in my usual size XSP and it fits true to size but the two buttons at the back of the neck were too fussy for my preference. If you like the floral print it’s also available in their comfortable camp shirt style blouse.

Lastly, I ordered these Llana suede  scalloped heeled booties because of the scallop detail and they should be arriving early this coming week.

The dress looks great on you! I don’t shop at Ann Taylor even half as often as I used to since I became an RN a few years ago and spend more than half my week in scrubs at the bedside now instead of in an office looking stylish, but I still shop FAR too often at LOFT in spite of that haha.

As a blogger, I imagine these companies might give you leeway on returns, but do you know if there are any limitations with online returns? Like you, I often order quite a few things simply to try (especially since my local LOFT stores don’t carry quite a few things in petite), but A LOT does end up not working out and getting sent back. I haven’t had any issues with the returns by mail thus far, but I’m always worried they will “cut me off”, so to speak, like what can happen with too many in store returns. Was just curious if you knew anything about limits with returns by mail. Thanks in advance!

      Thank you @leesooim!

I have not had an issue with online returns so far at LOFT or Ann Taylor. Sometimes I even pay the return shipping fee (LOFT only since ShopRunner returns via mail are free for Ann Taylor) since it’s less stressful than dragging a lot to the stores to return and hold up the line.
