OUTFIT DETAILS: Ann Taylor Cozy Mock Neck Sweater, size XXSP | Celine Micro Belt Bag (buy pre-owned here, note that I shortened the strap to 36″) | Hunter Original Refined Rain Boot (true to size, exact color is ‘tawny’ but it’s a past season color)
Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a Chinese Thanksgiving with my husband’s family at a local restaurant. I’ve never seen Ralphie so excited to see all of his little (human) cousins.
TRY-ONS & REVIEWS
For size reference I’m 5′ 2.5″ and I’m usually size XS petite in tops and 0/25 petite in pants and jeans. If you’re new to my blog I typically share the link to a short video clip below each image. My Pinterest is also up to date if you prefer a more visual catalog of my reviews. Refer to my other reviews organized by retailer here.
I like this simple mock neck sweater and I have it in two colors (tanned khaki and sand shell). I went down one size and size XXSP fits like my usual size XSP. You can also see size XXSP in the tanned khaki color on my friend Su whose sizing opinion I trust since we usually wear the same size. I’m happy to report that the sweater washes well on cold and air dried.

I ended up getting this coat in size XXSP as one of my gifted items for a recent sponsored post with Ann Taylor here. Size XXSP fits like my usual size XSP.

I took these black jeans in my usual size 25/0P. Since the sculpting pocket jeans run a bit smaller at the hips I went with the curvy fit.
I ordered this blouse to try since my friend Ly was curious about how this an the below dress fit. This blouse was very loose and flowy on me in my usual size so I believe I would be able to size down. There’s a lot of material on the sides when I tried to tuck it in. Since getting Ralphie I am more wary of tops with anything dangling that he may want to bite on.
There is a houndstooth texture to this dress but it is very subtle as seen in this clip. This dress has a narrow fit through the chest and shoulders and it would have helped if they included a side entry hidden zipper so that it was easier to put on or take off. As it is currently designed, this dress is a pull-on style so unless you size up it can be a struggle to pull the dress over your chest. If you are curvier you may need to size up since the material does not have any give at the hips. I didn’t like how the dress hung on me so I ended up returning it since it is very shapeless.
I bought these white jeans due to a fear of missing out when I noticed sizes were going quickly. It’s only available in size 10 right now as I work on this blog post. I took them in my usual size which fits well. They’re not sheer and I like the frayed hem and ankle length.
If you’re looking for thicker quality leggings then you should try this pair. I am so glad I took a chance and ordered them. My usual size XSP fit me well and it wasn’t necessary for me to order SP as well since XSP was the perfect fit and inseam.

This top runs bigger and size XXSP fits like my usual size XSP.
This moto jacket fits true to size. I squeezed into size XXSP pictured above to assess the fit and the shoulders an chest were pulling on me so I would likely need it in my usual size XSP. The sleeves are a bit shorter on me but I have longer arms than other fellow petite bloggers. This jacket is currently on sale for $59.99 after discounts. I have a similar moto jacket from Ann Taylor which I reviewed here. I like the silver hardware on the LOFT verison but I prefer the quality of the faux suede material from Ann Taylor. You can see a closeup of the faux suede material here.
I was looking for the black fleece trim version of the moto coat to try but I only found this herringbone version. Personally I didn’t love the beige color on my coloring. The purple color is really pretty in person and only one size was left in store in petites. My usual size XSP is a relaxed fit with room to layer and the sleeves look looser than I prefer. I am curious about size XXSP but then the sleeves length would definitely be too short on me. This coat and others are part of today’s yay of the day for $89.
This light grey robe comes in petites since I was able to try on size XXSP in store which fits me well. It was part of yesterday’s yay of the day for 50% off + an extra 10% off but I’ve gotten robes for less than $40 so I’ll have to keep an eye on it in case there’s a better deal in the future. FYI. This robe is available for less at LOFT Outlet and it doesn’t have a hood.
My latest LOFT order arrived but with family over for the holiday weekend I’m not sure if I’ll be able to take mirror selfies. I’ll try to share another post soon for Cyber Monday.
I had to try on this tweed coat since I liked the pink and white color and it’s lined unlike the Daphne topcoat in Italian boiled coat I reviewed here. My usual size 00 regular is a relaxed fit. I was excited about the coat until my husband asked me about a little fluff ball that fell off the coat so I agree with the other online reviews that the quality likely isn’t there.
This Teddy coat fit me well in my usual size and it’s not too fluffy unlike a lot of other teddy coats but I didn’t like the longer length on me (covers my knees). The regular size sleeves fit me well which means that the petite sleeves would be too short.
I meant to share this tip sooner but I was able to sign up with a new email address in order to stack the 15% off code with the Cardmember 50% off code SHOPFIRST for even more savings at J.Crew. I placed an order for a few items to try that I was curious about including this Devon zip-top tote in the saddle (cognac) color, the new Chateau puffer I reviewed here, the Chateau parka in new colors and the perfect raincoat I reviewed here. I like the Devon bonded leather tote but when I tried it on it looked bigger than I preferred on my petite frame.
Update 12/6: I received the Devon zip-top tote but I did not like the size on me and I wasn’t thrilled with the quality either. They cancelled my order for the Chateau puffer in size XXS which is out of stock but I just got a new black puffer coat (review here) so I guess it was good timing.
I finally saw this chair in the Serena and Lily showroom and I ordered 4 of them while it’s 25% off. Use code THANKFUL. I was happy that my husband found them to be comfortable when he sat on them in store.
Thanks for stopping by!
