I’m back with some outfit ideas and reviews of recent purchases including some adult face masks. This chambray shirt is one of the few items that I kept from the 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (preview this year’s sale items here). Update 8/3: I started updating my wishlist here.
I ordered the Old Navy face masks to try and they fit very loose before I washed them as seen in the photo and video clip linked below.

I thought that the above mask was white with black dots based on the online stock image so I was a little disappointed to see that it was khaki/tan color instead.
After I washed and dried the masks for a little bit on low heat they fit better after laundering. Before laundering the Old Navy version the size difference was very noticeable when I compared it to the Banana Republic version that I’ve been wearing. After laundering the Old Navy version is 1/2″ larger and 1/4″ wider than the Banana Republic Factory version of the adult masks (reviewed here) but I noticed that they used the same elastic on the ear loops for both versions. They’re both 3 layers but only the Banana Republic Factory version includes the bendable wire at the nose bridge and it’s also lined/finished with a white fabric inside.
Update 8/6: Click here to see a comparison of the adult face masks (including the Target adult face mask in size S/M which I reviewed here) that I’ve tried against a tape measure. In the clip, all of the face masks were washed and lined dried except for the new Old Navy face mask with the ear adjusters. However, once I washed and lined dried the Old Navy face masks with the ear adjusters the cloth portion of the mask shrank and become the same size as the laundered Old Navy face masks without ear adjusters as seen in this clip.
The Old Navy adult face masks are large enough to fit my husband’s face. For fit reference, he wears size 8 in baseball caps. He uses the navy one with the yellow polka dots with these 7.5″ ear savers since he has to wear a mask at work all day. Update 8/6: The new face masks with ear adjusters fit my husband comfortably and he doesn’t need to use the ear savers due to the longer ear loops which is a huge win. I don’t need the version of the face masks with ear adjusters since I don’t have an issue with the regular adult face masks after washing and line drying. You can see one of the new Old Navy face masks with the ear adjusters on me here. Personally I think that the extra ends look silly since they are white and the excess end of the loop sticks out (as seen on me here) so I prefer the version without the ear adjusters.

Click here for a closeup of the prints in natural light. I gave the two paisley prints to my sister in law since I really don’t need more masks although that didn’t stop me from ordering this black and white gingham set with ear adjusters for my husband since he wears a lot of black and white.

The floral print mask looks really cute with this adjustable baseball cap I got from Ann Taylor. I’ve been wanting the baseball cap since they featured it in this flatlay. I ordered it as soon as I saw it last week since they offered ALL Rewards members a stackable extra $20 off code on orders of $50+. I also noticed that a similar, highly reviewed baseball cap is available for under $10 so I may order another color to try. I haven’t owned a baseball cap in a long time but for the first time in my adult life I pulled my hair in a pony tail, threw on the cap and took Ralphie out for a walk before I showered.
I also ordered the Gap kids’ face masks out of curiosity and they have the bendable wire at the nose bridge. The kids’ size was very snug on me and the loops pulled at my ears as seen here so unless you have a smaller face I wouldn’t recommend trying the kids’ size. I gave the two kids’ masks that I did not try on to our little nephews.
I ordered these white shorts to try and I sized up which I think was a mistake since they stretch out after wearing them. I ordered the shorts in both my usual size and a size up and my usual size was a bit snug. I’ll have to list the shorts on my Poshmark but these shorts are a reminder why I don’t usually bother shop at Abercrombie.
I also ordered their straw tote to try but the tote I received was lopsided (as seen in this clip) and the ends of the handles were poorly tucked in and looked like they would unravel (as seen in this clip).
I recently picked up another pair of these cap toe loafers (review here) on sale but in a half size up when size 7.5 popped back. The rubber sole for pair that I’ve been wearing since mid-March detached a little bit from the front of the rope insole on the right shoe which I’ll have to try to see if I can glue it together. The new pair in a half size up give my toes more room to wiggle and the shoe doesn’t fall off my heels.
Crewcuts Girls’ T-shirt with heart-shaped pocket, size 14 (review with video clips at the bottom of this post) | Zara Raffia Crossbody Bag (item no. 6667/510) | Click here to view a clip of the outfit on me
I’ve been steadily going through my closet and I’m finally wearing some of items I bought but forgot about. Before the pandemic I was receiving a lot of gifted items from Ann Taylor so it was a lot of clothes to organize in our small walk-in closet. I’m listing items I no longer want or need on my Poshmark and if you add items to a bundle I am likely to get back to you with a lower offer.
This heart t-shirt is really cute and girls’ size 14 fits like my usual size XS petite.

c/o Ann Taylor Striped Eyelet Flutter Sleeve Shell, size XSP | Abercrombie High Rise Mom Shorts, size 26 | Ann Taylor Two Tone Leaf Drop Earrings | Vintage Gucci Crossbody from LXRandCo (review here) | Cole Haan Caddie Bow Loafers (true to size, review here)
I have the above navy and white shell in size XS regular since I was sent the wrong size for a recent collaboration with Ann Taylor. I also have this eyelet short sleeve maxi dress (review here in size 0P) in size 0 regular. I do plan to list them on my Poshmark but please send me a message if you’re interested in them for less than their current online sale price.
I was so excited to receive this dress and my usual size fit me well except at the chest where it gaped at the sides when I raise my arms. The measurements of size 0P are as follows: 33″ chest, 29″ waist and 36.25″ total length. It’s currently sold out and it was recently on sale for $22 despite being a new arrival at the time. The material is thicker and the buttons in the front are not functional but you put on the dress using the zipper in the back.
When I ordered this tiled dress petite sizes where not yet available but I see the petite sizes online now. The measurements of size 0 regular are as follows: 31″ chest, 29″ waist (above the seam at the ruffle on the waist), 39.75″ total length. If you like this tiled print I also reviewed the maxi skirt here.

Lastly, I thought this floral print was so cute so I ordered the dress to try. Topshop runs small and size 4 is a very snug fit at the chest especially in the back so I reordered it in size 6 and the new size should be arriving early this week. The dress is unlined but I didn’t find it to be too sheer. The length is shorter than what I normally wear but I’ll see how the new size fits before I decide if the dress is a keeper. Update 8/3: I received size 6 today and took a quick photo and video. The sleeves are a lot puffier in this size but it’s a more comfortable fit at the chest. Size 6 fits like my usual size XS petite.
Ann Taylor Ottoman Puff Sleeve Peplum Top, size XS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on
I spotted this beautiful peplum top in store and I had to try it on. As always Ann Taylor’s winter white is a shade of off white/ivory but this top is also available in a vintage dot blush and grey sapphire. After I tried on this top and the one below it was dropped into a locked bin to be quarantined for I believe 72 hours before they put it back on the sales floor.
Ann Taylor Lace Trim Puff Sleeve Top, size XXS regular | Click here to view the clip from my try-on
This top was on my wishlist so I was happy to see it in store to try-on. It’s currently sold out online but in case sizes pop back I figured I’d review it here anyway. Based on where it falls at my hips the length is longer than I prefer in the regular size but I cannot remember if it came in petites. The light blue color and the lace details on the sleeves are very pretty in person.
