Mini Uniqlo Review

Uniqlo Chiffon Pleated Long Skirt in olive, size S

I wanted this pleated skirt since this year’s version has a flat waistband which looks more polished. I ordered the olive color to try but it’s a muted shade of olive which makes it hard to match with anything other than black in my closet. (Click here to see a clip of the above look on me.) For example, I tried to pair the skirt with an olive moto jacket but the two shades of olive didn’t compliment each other well. The 33″ length is longer than I expected considering it looked like a midi skirt on the model. I am leaning towards returning the skirt due to the length. I tried it in a size up since the waistband tends to runs small for Uniqlo’s pleated skirts. Size S has a 25″ waistband with a 1″ stretch so it’s snug on me but not uncomfortably so. The skirt is well-made and fully lined but the heavy lining can be prone to static cling due to the dry indoor heat this time of year.

I have and still wear the pleated skirts in other colors from a few years ago and those skirts were 32″ long and had a shorter inner lining. You can see the white skirt on me here which is the same as the pink color I reviewed here back in 2017.

I was very interested in this tweed coat from the latest Ines de la Fressange fall/winter collection and I finally ordered it to try when I saw that it went on promotion. Size XXS is a tailored fit but the overall length is very long. I wouldn’t be able to wear any substantial layers in my usual size due to the slim fit and narrow cut at the shoulders. This is a chic mid-weight coat that’s perfect for fall if it fits you well. The micro herringbone pattern in the beige colorway is timeless and the coat is fully lined. Size XXS measurements are as follows: 14″ shoulders, 32″ chest, 30″ waist, 23.75″ sleeves and 41.5″ total length.

I’m on the hunt for a chic fall coat and I ordered this J.Crew Daphne topcoat coat in the new heather acorn color which I hope to review next week when it arrives. Refer to my review of the coat from last year here. It was 40% off using the code SALETIME. Just a friendly reminder that Cardmembers get an extra 20% off for Cardmember appreciation month with the code CARDLOVE. I also ordered this cropped cardigan sweater in neutral heather mushroom which I am now eagerly awaiting especially after seeing size XS on my friend Lilly in her Instagram stories.
