Rothy’s The Hemp Knot sandals | Cuyana Mini Double Loop Bag| Banana Republic Factory Organic Cotton Tiered Midi Dress, size 0P (review here, similar here) | Scala hat from T.J. Maxx (similar here and here)
I wore this white dress over the weekend and I’ve been saving the dress since I bought it last year. At some point I just started to wear all of my dresses even if I have nowhere special to go. This white dress was the perfect outfit to pair with my new mini bag and sandals.
I ordered Rothy’s new The Hemp Knot sandals the day they launched and I noticed that only select sizes are left. I took my usual size 7 based on this helpful YouTube review and I noticed that she has similar sizing recommendations for the popular The Point flats that I agree with mentioned at 3:30-4:22 into her video (I reviewed The Point flats here but I don’t love them so I will be posting size 8 of the flats on my Poshmark soon).
The soles of Size 7 in the Knot sandals are the same length as the removable insoles of The Sneakers in size 7.5 which are 9.75″ total length. The sandals fit well on my slightly wider feet and they have no arch support but they’re easy to walk in and the stretchy bow straps didn’t give me a blister. As with all flip flops they make a slapping sound against your feet. Thank you in advance for using my referral link for $20 off your first pair of Rothy’s. Rothy’s now offers a few men’s styles as well. My husband recently tried the new men’s RS01 sneakers but they were too narrow for his wide feet which was too bad since they’re a classic style.
Update 7/1: I tried to wear the Knot sandals when walking Ralphie this morning but my feet were sliding on the footbed. The lack of arch support also made my feet ache from trying to get a good grip to keep my feet in the sandals while he dragged me around doing his business. In my opinion, this type of flat sandal is best suited for walking at a relaxed pace preferably on a flat surface. The first time I wore them out while shopping last weekend and I didn’t think anything of the comfort or lack thereof then since I was leisurely walking around. I just ordered the white Knot sandals since they’re part of Rothy’s Summer Archive Event for $55 (they’re originally $115).

The new mini size in Cuyana’s Double Loop Bag collection is the a great minimalist bag currently priced at $195 USD. I got it to replace the Polene Numero Un Nano bag (review here) that I sold on Poshmark. The pebbled leather is soft but sturdy (I haven’t noticed any scratches yet) which I appreciate since running around with Ralphie can be hectic and I prefer a secure hands free bag that I can access with one hand on our walks. The magnetic flap makes it easy to reach inside the bag while also keeping your items secure. The magnet closure isn’t very strong so the flap will open if your bag is turned upside down.

The mini bag is a very lightweight bag that fits comfortably against the body and it doesn’t feel heavy even after you put all of your things inside. There’s an open back pocket which fits my smaller/flat cardholder and the interior also has a flat open pocket against the wall. The 0.75″ width crossbody strap is adjustable with 7 holes (about 1″ apart) for a strap length between 38″ at the shortest length (for a 19″ drop) and 45″ at the longest length (22.5″ drop). I am wearing the bag on the second to shortest hole which is 39″ for a 19.5″ drop so that it rests right at my hip since I’m 5′ 2.5″. If you use the shortest hole or the second to shortest hole like me then the end of the strap will extend longer than the base of the loop but it doesn’t bother me. The package included a dust bag and tissue paper stuffed inside the bag but the crossbody straps and o-ring gold hardware were not carefully wrapped. The bag took a while to arrive since it was sent via FedEx – it shipped via San Leandro, CA on June 10th and arrived in the Boston area on June 20th.
Update 11/18/21: I’ve owned the bag for almost 5 months and while I like the mini size I think I would have preferred the larger size (I love the new cappucino and dark olive colors) since it fits more especially now that I’ve returned to the office. When reaching inside the bag there is a rough spot on one edge of the top left corner of the small sewn in flap (with the magnetic closure) that scratches the back of my hand. A friend who also got the bag based on my recommendation said she has the same issue with her bag but she loves the bag and uses it daily. It’s my only annoyance with the bag. It’s held up well since I often use the bag even if it’s raining outside while walking Ralphie. The finish on the edge of the straps has yet to crackle.
What’s in my bag: Kate Spade card holder | Lancaster Paris Card holder (similar here)| Touchland hand sanitizer | Customizable keychain | Washable and reusable Baggu (they have new prints all of the time) | Pet wipes (smells like coconut) | iPhone 12 (I would not recommend this silicone case since it didn’t last more than 6 months before splitting along the edge)
The mini bag fits my two small card holders, a hand sanitizer, keychain, reusable bag, pet wipes and my iPhone 12.
I also ordered this peplum tee in 3 colors in the same size (XS) but the solid black color (above) has the longest length (21″) in the front. The solid color uses a thinner fabric compared to the striped versions. I took size XS in all 3 colors and I’m 5′ 2.5″ and currently 113 pounds. The tees I received didn’t come with any holes which was my main concern when I read all of the negative online reviews before purchasing anyway.

I also like this black and white stripes version but the peplum flounce is a bit shorter (20.5″) than the white with black stripes down below. The material of this striped top is thicker than the solid black color. Note that the stripes do not match up on the sides in case that level of detail will bother you.
I was excited to find these popular Steve Madden Hayden Sandals at Marshalls recently. They were marked down to $22 so I scooped them up and ended up at the register. Size 7.5 fits me well (I usually wear size 7) so I’d say these run a half size smaller. They also run a bit narrow since my right foot is wider than my left foot so I hope the band will stretch a bit to accommodate my wider right foot.

I wanted to like this white color with the black stripes but the front is very short (barely 19″) and the material is thicker/stiffer and doesn’t drape well. I’m not sure that sizing up would help with the length so I returned this color.
