J.Crew Girls’ lightweight quilted jacket with eco-friendly PrimaLoft® in olive sand, size XL | AYR The Slushy Tee, size XS (review here) | Ann Taylor frayed hem skinny jeans, size 0P (old favorites) | Angela Roi Grace Top Handle Shoulder Bag in mud gray | Jenn Ardor Penny Loafers in pink (review here) | Click here to view the clip from my try-on
It’s been a warm fall in Boston so I bought this J.Crew girls’ quilted jacket on sale in mid-October for $40.79 after all discounts (I paid $30.79 after redeeming $10 in rewards). All sizes are still fully stocked if you’re keeping an eye on it for the next good sale.
If you’re looking for a warm winter coat I reviewed two long puffer coats here. I recommend the second coat (beginning at 0:53 in the video clip) which I reviewed in detail here if you need measurements.
As a funny aside I recently ordered the Angela Roi Grace top handle shoulder bag (shown above) on Facebook since they offered an extra 20% off code and to my surprise I received two bags. I’m waiting for customer service to tell me what to do with the extra bag. The mud gray color (taupe with gray tones in person as seen here) sold out quickly so you won’t see this colorway online unless they restock it again. For some reason their vegan leather material (EPUL) has a very faint smoky smell which I can still smell when I sniff the bag up close. The shoulder strap is 34″ end to end (including the hardware) and it’s not adjustable so the strap is very short if you try to wear it as a crossbody bag.
J.Crew Girls’ lightweight quilted jacket with eco-friendly PrimaLoft®, size L | Soludos Ashore Sneaker (review here) | Click here to view the clip from my try-on
Size L was a boxy fit with room to layer but the sleeves were too short and my husband commented that the bracelet length looked awkward. However, if you’re petite and have shorter arms then you may want to try size L. Based on where the end of the sleeves hit me in the above photo the sleeve length of size L is likely close to 20″ (compared to 23″ for size XL).

Size XL is an oversized fit on me and the sleeves are a bit long but you can cuff them to show the fun leopard print underneath. The measurements of size XL are as follows:
16″ shoulders
40″ chest
42″” waist (measured in the middle of the 4th and 5th button from the top)
32.5″ total length
40″ along the bottom hem
23″ sleeve length
14″ upper arm circumference
11″ wrist circumference
For size reference I’m 5′ 2.5″ and 115 pounds.
The material is 100% polyester and machine washable. The jacket also comes in a navy blue color with a cute red floral pattern.
Update 9/5/23: My mom was chilly in the evening when she came to visit us in Boston so I gave the olive Crewcuts jacket to her (the sleeves were bracelet length on her). Girl’s size XL is so oversized that it fit my mom comfortably. She’s 5’4″ and about 150 pounds and wears women’s size large and size 10 in pants.
J.Crew Perfect Lightweight Jacket, size XXS (review here) | Melissa Ulitsa Slip-On Sneaker (review here if you’re interested in waterproof shoes)
I got this jacket on sale for $40.80 after all discounts during Labor day weekend (I paid $35.80 after redeeming $5 rewards). I bought the olive color in 2019 for $51 which I reviewed here. Only size XXS is currently available but if you’re around my size then you’ll be able to snag this jacket which I think has nicer details than this year’s version here. It’s a classic three season jacket that you can layer underneath as seen here. (Note that I cuffed the sleeves once in the the above photo in case it looks a bit short.)
Thanks for stopping by!
