Looking for the most comfortable wide-leg jeans? I recently tested the Paige Anessa Petite 29″ Wide Leg Jeans versus the Quince Bella Stretch Wide Leg Jeans to see which fit best. After wearing both all day, I found that while both have a stretchy waistband and hold their shape, the Paige Anessa Petite in ‘Novelist’ offers a superior fit and drape. Plus, I discovered the same Paige style (1H86F72-C357), normally $249, on T.J. Maxx for just $79.99.
The Paige jeans are made of 93% cotton, 5% polyester, and 2% spandex and the measurements of size 26 petite are as follows:
28″ waistband
11″ rise
28″ inseam
21″ leg opening
The verified inseam measurements do not match the 29″ inseam in the item description on the Paige’s website. The T.J. Maxx item description also confirms the 28″ inseam for style number 1H86F72-C357.

In comparison, below are the measurements of size 25 x 28″ inseam for the Quince jeans which are made of 65.6% organic cotton, 19.4% polyester, 10.3″ viscose, 4.7% elastane:

The rise is 1″ longer for the Paige jeans provides a more flattering as well as comfortable fit in the rear and a more mid-section friendly high-rise waistband that doesn’t pinch when you sit down – an important feature for maximum comfort. The Paige Transcend Vintage denim material provides a more fluid drape through the legs than the Quince jeans for someone my height. For size reference, I’m 42 years old, 5′ 2.5″ and currently 115 pounds. Even though both jeans have the same inseam (28″ inseam when I verified the measurements) I prefer the noticeable extra length of the Paige jeans as a result of the difference in the inseam and the softer material.
The Paige wide leg jeans have a 1″ longer rise than the Quince wide leg jeans, which provides a more flattering and comfortable fit through the rear and a midsection-friendly waistband that doesn’t pinch when you sit — an important detail for all-day comfort. The Paige Transcend Vintage denim also drapes more fluidly through the legs compared to the Quince jeans, which I find especially flattering for my height. For size reference, I’m 42 years old, 5’2.5″, and currently 115 pounds. Although both jeans have the same measured inseam (28″), I prefer the Paige jeans for their slightly longer look and softer, more forgiving fabric.
