The rest of my order finally arrived in the mail yesterday. Apologies for the poor lighting but I took these photos at night since we’re heading out of town in the morning.

I sized down in this shirt per the online sizing recommendation and size XXSP fits like my usual size XSP. The measurements of size XXSP are as follows: 35.5″ chest, 22″ sleeve length, 38″ at the start of the split shirttail hem, 25″ total length in front, 26.5″ total length in back.

The black color finally arrived and it’s noticeably shorter and smaller than the grey color (shown below, review here) even though I got them both in the same size. The material is soft and stretchy so both fit me comfortably. Update 8/14: I wore the black color yesterday and the side that rubbed against my purse pilled. The pilling can be removed with a sweater shaver but I figured it is worth noting.

Topshop Joni High Waist Moto Jeans
I usually wear size 25/0P in jeans and I sized up per the online recommendation but the measurements of size 26W x 28L are as follows: 23″ waist, 28″ hips, 8.5″ ankle opening and 23″ inseam. I really like the dark indigo wash so I reordered these jeans in 30W x 30L since this style runs extremely small and short. I couldn’t even pull them on past my thighs which was laughable. Update 8/4: I received size 30W x 30L and the measurements are as follows: 28″ waist, 33″ hips, 9.5″ ankle opening and 26″ inseam. The waist fits but the pant legs are too loose on me especially through the thighs as seen in this clip.

I like this trench coat since it has a lot of extra details that I love as seen in this video clip. It looks really nice worn open since the cropped portion is flattering when the double collar drapes naturally as shown below and as seen in this clip. The measurements of size XXS regular are as follows: 36″ chest, 30″ waist, 12″ upper arm circumference, 23.5″ sleeve length and 33.5″ total length. Update 8/4: I came back from vacation and I tried on the trench again but it was snug at the waist (I gained 2.5 pounds and it always goes to my stomach area first) so I decided to return it.
I was able to use this mini travel steamer to get the wrinkles out of the trench with ease. I’m steaming out a thin sweater in this clip but you can see the trench behind it which was really wrinkled when it arrived. I didn’t even need to use my full sized Jiffy steamer since the mini steamer has really powerful stream of steam. I’m used to the ease of a longer hose with a full size steamer so I had to remember not to tilt the mini steamer too much. If you tilt the mini steamer and the water level is high then the water inside will easily come out similar to if you were tilting a teapot.

All of the items I ordered on Friday shipped over the weekend and I received the following 3 items today. The rest of my order will arrive Wednesday and Saturday but I hope the items arriving later come sooner since we’ll be away for a week.

This top runs one size bigger since size XXS petite fits like my usual size XS petite. The material is soft and the twist isn’t too short with the high waisted jeans. The sleeve are not too snug and the material has a comfortable stretch to it. I also ordered the top in the black color but it’s not coming in the mail for another two days. The measurements of size XXS petite are as follows: 14″ shoulders, 36″ chest, 16.5″ sleeve length, 23″ back length, 18.5″ length near the twist detail. The material is 74% rayon, 21% polyester and 5% spandex.
KUT from the Kloth Donna High Waist Skinny Jeans, size 0 petite – Click here and here to view the clips from my try on. The transformative wash is a nice medium wash with minimal whiskering and no distressing similar to these old favorite LOFT jeans although the ankle opening isn’t as narrow. I ordered my usual size and they run true to size and they look good when standing but there’s too much material at the crotch when I sit down if you view the first video clip I linked. The jeans have a lot of stretch and the short inseam hits above my ankles. The material is 91% cotton, 7% polyester and 2% elastane. The measurements of size 0 petite are as follows: 9.5″ rise, 27″ waist, 32″ hips, 24.5″ inseam, 8.5″ ankle opening.

I ordered these booties in a 1/2 size up per the other online reviews and size 7.5 fits like my usual size 7. In person the cognac color has an orangey hue to it which I personally didn’t love. The top of the shoe ripples when you move around so the booties don’t look as sleek as I would prefer especially since the ankle opening is looser on me (I have 7.75″ ankles). The measurements checked against size 7.5 are as follows: 4″ shaft, 3.75″ stacked heel and 9.5″ ankle opening. They do appear to be well made with no sighs of glue showing for the pair I received and they have a non-slip rubber sole with good traction.

Public Access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is today through August 4th. There’s a very limited selection for petites which helped to narrow down my choices. Here are some basics I ordered to try and I will share another update with reviews if and when my order is fulfilled:

Will you be shopping the Nordstrom Anniversay Sale? Early Access starts July 12th at 12:30PM ET, access to the general public begins July 19th and the sale ends on August 4th this year. Personally I haven’t had a lot of luck shopping at Nordstrom. Last year I placed 5 orders and I only kept these Lucky Brand Yabba Wedge Bootie (back again this year, review here), the Topshop Jamie high waist ankle skinny Jeans (review and measurements here) and the Zella ‘Hatha’ high waist crop leggings (review here). I regret keeping this Caslon Two Pocket Knit Blazer (review here) which I listed on Poshmark since I lost the receipt but I may just try to return it since the tags are attached.
NSALE SHOPPING TIPS
1. No need to sign up for a credit card to shop Early Access – If you don’t have a Nordstrom card check out the below tip for how to gain access to shop the nsale without being a credit card holder in previous years. Update 12:30PM ET: The workaround is not working this year since they are verifying your Nordstrom card number.
3. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack accept each other’s returns – This is yet another helpful and convenient tip I’ve learned from Annie in case you don’t have a Nordstrom store near you. This article (short and sweet) and this article (more in depth) both confirm how and why cross-chain returns are possible. I’ve only tried this once in 2017. The politically correct response from Nordstrom Rack employee I asked was that they accept Nordstrom returns as a courtesy to their customers.
4. Be wary of restock alerts – Items will be returned and pop back in stock online in random sizes and colors throughout the sale (and well after the sale has ended). I believe this is due to many people ordering multiple sizes and colors. However, items that frequently get restocked in almost all sizes and colors may also be due to poor fit, poor quality or both. Most people can’t wait to return something fast enough if we don’t love it and the majority will not bother to leave a helpful review either way. I typically review items regardless of whether or not they work out for me.
