NSALE 2020

AUGUST 29, 2020

My reviews of this year’s haul is finally up! Thanks for reading!

August 26, 2020

The rest of my items/orders shipped yesterday and today. Everything that I had ordered at the start of public access on August 19th should arrive by Saturday August 29th. I will try to share in the moment updates on my Instagram stories (I will save them to my #nsale highlights) and on my Insta Shop since that is cutting it close to the end of the sale which is on Sunday, August 30th. I will eventually review everything on the blog.

AUGUST 22, 2020

I ordered the new Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Ultra Lite Cardigan in size XS in the pacific blue color even though I wanted the beach rock color. If I like it hopefully I’ll manage to exchange it later on. So far only the lash serum and the cardigan have shipped out of all of my #nsale orders.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale public access is open today August 19 at 9:30AM ET through August 30, 2020. Not surprising but a lot of the items I wanted are sold out in the color and sizes I want/need. Here is what I ordered to try and I will share #nsale updates as things arrive in the mail:

Note: A few items are not #nsale specific and I also ordered a pricey camisole that I’ve been curious about.

I’m most excited to try the NEULASH serum that my friend Lilly recommended. I ordered the girl’s tops in size XL (14-16), the cardigan in size XS petite and the two jeans in size 0P and 26W x 28L. Topshop Jamie style skinny jeans run one size smaller and the 28L inseam is usually a 25-26″ inseam which is ankle length on me.

AUGUST 3, 2020

Will you be shopping the Nordstrom Anniversay Sale? Shopping early access requires a card so I’ll be watching/reading reviews and updating my wishlist until I can shop the sale. Public Access this year is August 19-30. There’s a very limited petite selection which always helps to further narrow down my choices.

FYI. I was recently in store this past weekend and I overheard someone ask a sales associate who confirmed that the fitting rooms are open for try-ons at the Nordstrom location in Natick, MA.

NSALE SHOPPING TIPS

1. Don’t sweat it – Per Annie‘s helpful tip, Nordstrom will honor the sale price of an item that has been restocked only if your #nsale order was cancelled. Therefore, I wouldn’t sweat it if you miss out on an item due to a cancelled order as long as you don’t mind online stalking an item. I bookmark the item’s page and check at random times throughout the day for pop-ups in the size/color I want.

2. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack accept each other’s returns – This is yet another helpful and convenient tip I’ve learned from Annie in case you don’t have a Nordstrom store near you. This article (short and sweet) and this article (more in depth) both confirm how and why cross-chain returns are possible. I’ve only tried this once in 2017. The politically correct response from Nordstrom Rack employee I asked was that they accept Nordstrom returns as a courtesy to their customers.

3. Be wary of restock alerts – Items will be returned and pop back in stock online in random sizes and colors throughout the sale (and well after the sale has ended). I believe this is due to many people ordering multiple sizes and colors. However, items that frequently get restocked in almost all sizes and colors may also be due to poor fit, poor quality or both. Most people can’t wait to return something fast enough if we don’t love it and the majority will not bother to leave a helpful review either way. I typically review items regardless of whether or not they work out for me.

THESE NSALE CLASSICS ARE BACK

Due to the pandemic I noticed that the sale price is lower than previous years for some of these items.

Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite Circle Cardigan (retail price: $116 sale price: $68.90) – Review here.

Gibson Cozy Twist Front Pullover, size XXSP (retail price: $49 sale price: $28.90) – Review here.

Zella Live In High Waist Leggings (retail price: $59 sale price: $38.90) – Review here. I also reviewed the cropped version here.

Longchamp ‘Le Pliage’ Expandable Tote (retail price: $195 sale price: $119.90) – I reviewed this expandable tote here compared to the other sizes I own.

Diptyque candle set (sale price: $75) – You can see the sizing compared to the full-size 6.2oz candle here. The votive size doesn’t

On a related note, I noticed that the Silk’n Flash & Go hair removal device isn’t part of this year’s anniversary sale and it coincidentally just sold out on Nordstrom as I’m writing this. I bought the Silk’n BellaFlash Pro Touch & Glide HPL Technology Hair Removal Device (last year it was $149.99 after an automatic $50 discount) from Costco last year (on August 22) after shopping around. I noticed the device is currently $139.99 after an automatic $60 at Costco right now. I’ve used the device on my arms, legs and bikini area successfully. It took me 3-4 sessions on each area before I started to see noticeable reduction in hair growth. However, I’ve used 6 sessions on my arms and legs and my leg hair has stopped growing but I still have a few spots where I see some stubble come in on my arms slowly in some spots that I missed. I can tolerate the highest setting (5) on my arms and legs but my bikini area can only tolerate the middle setting (3). I’m hoping to finish the bikini area after a few more sessions. I also need to try the device on my upper lip which I currently pluck.
