NSALE 2021

JULY 16, 2021

I caved and signed up for the retail Nordstrom card the other day. Please note that if you were just approved for another credit card recently (I had just gotten approved for a business credit card for another business) then you should not attempt to sign up for another card even if it’s a retail store card as you may only get approved for a much lower credit limit due to the 5/24 rule even if you have good/excellent credit. I found this out the hard way since I didn’t know about the 5/24 rule and I haven’t signed up for a new credit cards in years. I then had issues checking out with my new Nordstrom card this morning which I honestly didn’t want to use anyway due to the lower limit. I kept on getting the error ‘Check the card and try again, or try a different card‘ when attempting to order one item with the new Nordstrom card. Luckily I was able to get help through Nordstrom’s live chat and someone in their Credits department changed my account options so that it allows me to use a non-Nordstrom card to checkout. I had to temporarily delete my Nordstrom card from my online account. Lastly, they also confirmed I should be able to continue to use a non-Nordstrom card to place online orders going forward for the remainder of Early Access. (Click here to see what I ordered.)

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2021 Sale Picks

Will you be shopping the Nordstrom Anniversay Sale? Shopping Early Access began on July 12th for the highest loyalty card members and the sale requires a card to shop. I’ll be reading reviews and updating my wish list until I can shop the sale during Public Access which is July 28 – August 8 this year. Here are some of my favorite #nsale picks:

NSALE SHOPPING TIPS

1. Don’t sweat it – Per Annie‘s helpful tip, Nordstrom will honor the sale price of an item that has been restocked only if your #nsale order was cancelled. Therefore, I wouldn’t sweat it if you miss out on an item due to a cancelled order as long as you don’t mind online stalking an item. I bookmark the item’s page and check at random times throughout the day for pop-ups in the size/color I want.

2. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack accept each other’s returns – This is yet another helpful and convenient tip I’ve learned from Annie in case you don’t have a Nordstrom store near you. This article (short and sweet) and this article (more in depth) both confirm how and why cross-chain returns are possible. I’ve only tried this once in 2017. The politically correct response from Nordstrom Rack employee I asked was that they accept Nordstrom returns as a courtesy to their customers.

3. Be wary of restock alerts – Items will be returned and pop back in stock online in random sizes and colors throughout the sale (and well after the sale has ended). I believe this is due to many people ordering multiple sizes and colors. However, items that frequently get restocked in almost all sizes and colors may also be due to poor fit, poor quality or both. Most people can’t wait to return something fast enough if we don’t love it and the majority will not bother to leave a helpful review either way. I typically review items regardless of whether or not they work out for me.

THESE NSALE CLASSICS ARE BACK

NEULASH Lash Enhancing Serum Duo (sale price: $95) – I used this serum pretty consistently since January and I only recently started to see some extra length but my lashes don’t appear to be fuller or thicker. I tried to take a closeup of my lashes here and so far only I can tell that they’re a little longer as I apply the serum at night. Each tube is marked with a 12 month shelf life and I was able to use the first tube for about 6 months. Since the NEULASH serum didn’t work well for me I am considering the RevitaLash version after seeing Wendy raving about it here.

Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite Circle Cardigan (retail price: $116 sale price: $69.90) – Review here.

Gibson Cozy Twist Front Pullover (retail price: $49 sale price: $20.97) – Review here.

Zella Amazing Cozy Wrap Jacket (retail price: $89 sale price: $58.90) – I managed to order this jacket last September after the sale at full price to try-on in order to satisfy my curiosity since it was the one item I really wanted. Spoiler alert- I returned it. Review here.

Halogen Open Front Pocket Cardigan (retail price: $79 sale price: $49.90) – Review here.

Zella Live In High Waist Leggings (retail price: $59 sale price: $38.90) – Review here. I also reviewed the cropped version here.

Tucker + Tate Hipster Briefs (retail price: $8.50 sale price: $4.90) – Last year I ordered a two-pack of these girl’s briefs in size L in white and nude. They’re very stretchy can stretch to fit women’s size XS. The material is nice and thicker in case you need some practical new underwear although they’re not seamless.

Longchamp ‘Le Pliage’ Expandable Tote (retail price: $195 sale price: $119.90) – I reviewed this expandable tote here compared to the other sizes I own.

Diptyque candle set (sale price: $60) – You can see the sizing compared to the full-size 6.2oz candle here. The votive size doesn’t have much scent throw.
